69. Listening For The Gifts Your Audience Gives You

from Public Speaking, Get Promoted, Storytelling, Sales, Marketing, Visibility: Be In Demand

You have two ears and one mouth, to listen more than you speak. More often than not, we fall into passive listening, where we’re waiting for a break in the conversation to speak again. Active listening is an unutilized skill and will help you gleam more information about your presentation, what clients want more or and what really resonated with them. Public speaking is a skill that you’ll always be fine tuning and changing. To take information that’s not included on feedback forms is one way of creating new presentations for the future and perfecting the one you’ve given. On today’s episode we dive into the benefits of really listening to what your audience is asking for in their comments and questions.   Check out what you’ll learn: How to capture what’s being said and asked without relying on your memory, which really can be either forgotten or summarized later when you’re recalling the information. What audience questions and comments are really telling you about your topic and future topics. How to construct your own feedback from what others are saying. Tips and tricks to gather and analyze this data from both in person and virtual speaking events.   PLUS, you can use these cues during one on one conversations with clients, family and friends.
