69 You Are Standing on Holy Ground
from For College Catholics Hosted by Fr. Patrick Wainwright, MC
Why was the ground Moses was standing on “holy ground”? (Exodus 3:5). Why did Jesus expel the money-changers and people who sold animals from the Temple of Jerusalem? (John 2:13). It’s because “sacred” things, places, times and people are meant to be treated in a different way than things that we have for daily (or “profane”) use. Today we’ll speak about why some things are sacred, and what makes them different! More info on these sacred signs can be found in the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (note: this is a summary of the “Catechism”), numbers 92, 236-237, 240, 244-246, 254.
