#697 Author and Cancer Survivor Brian Holley

Please join Dave the Mystic on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 8pm MDT with guest Brian Holley.  Brian has been writing non-fiction for over fifty years and, for a few years, worked as a freelance journalist for several leading computer magazines. He ran a communication skill training company with his wife for 12 years. Following that, he was an online course tutor for five FE colleges. Brian has been an active member of the Weobley & District Local History Society for 20 years and ten years as chairman. He was an active Quaker for 12 years, including three years as an elder. During this time, he facilitated workshops in England and Wales. He is now an active member of Herefordshire Interfaith Group, for whom he facilitates workshops and leads group discussions. In 2009, Brian was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and his left kidney was removed. Since then, he has had various bits removed and, since 2015, has had metastatic cancer in my lungs. There are now tumours in his pancreas, and one was recently found in his humerus and removed. Throughout this period, Brian has maintained symptom-free health largely through exercise, meditative practices and diet. He intensified his regimen in 2022 after a short period of chemotherapy from which he withdrew because of its detrimental effect on his overall wellbeing, He has had support from nutritionists, an acupuncturist and, currently, from a kinesiologist.
