6S, ep. 9: NYC stand-up comedian, Crenshaw White, learns improv live on the show.

This week we continue our summer project, 6S: Some Suggestions Sometimes Summer School Series. Each week this summer, on #NoSuggestionPod, we'll have on a performer, usually a comedian, with very little long-form improv experience. Me, and a few of past No Suggestion guests, all seasoned improv comedians, will give that guest a private improv class live on the show. This week we were honored to have one of the sharpest comedians around on the show, stand-up comedian, and writer, Crenshaw White (@crenshawkindafunny)! Co-host Aston Hollins (@astonhollins), and guest co-host, Slaney Rose Jordan (@slaneyrose), really had a good time getting to know Crenshaw and giving him a proper improv lesson. This week we chat with Crenshaw about improv being stand-up's mortal enemy, Whataburger, what it was like for Crenshaw to be raised in LA and go to college in New Orleans, and surface-level vulnerability. We also got in a couple really fun improv scenes with Crenshaw, we got to give some fun notes, and then try them on in the scenes. We really give you your money's worth in this episode with not only some great improv gems, but some wonderful musings on how comedy works. Loved getting to know Crenshaw.
