7-20. The 1914 Muddy Creek Murder

from The Felon File · host Scott Lunsford

A shade of blue story that starts at Muddy Creek in Forsyth County North Carolina. Or perhaps it ends there. A very popular fishing location at the time and still is by some accounts. Two local men on the 25th of August 1914 while fishing discovered something in the water that would impact a family for decades. 15 feet from the bank the object hung on the surface of the water. One of the men doing what comes naturally, he poked it with his fishing pole.  Unfortunately, the object stirred and shifted in the water revealing a dead man's naked body.
