7-27-21: $30 Million dollars? Just ask George.

Not just because it’s the right way to be but because others are always watching us and our actions follow us forever. This was never more true than when a former teammate of mine I’ll call “George” was denied a trade late in his career to a team I was playing on because I, and several other veteran players told management that he was a bad fit and would be terrible for the locker room. The player we traded for instead wound up with a $30 million contract and “George” was soon out of baseball.
