7.5: Sanctification: Striving to be Holy Like God is Holy

We humans can never be perfect. Only Jesus is  perfect. So, even after we repent of our sins — that is, stop sinning —  how do we stay repented? It’s not easy. Satan’s whole purpose in  existing is to tempt us and prevent us from staying repented. Satan will try distracting us so  we don’t read the Bible every day. He’ll say to us, “Oh, you’re too  tired to go to church on Sunday!” on Saturday night. And it gets way  worse. Jesus said… The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 NLT The thief is Satan. Then Peter tells us… 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 1 Peter 1:15 NLT Huh? How are we supposed to do that? Keep reading in my blog.... If you truly want to be born again and have the assurance of salvation and a 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven and that you won’t be left behind at the Rapture, this is what you have to do… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.  Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I will follow you for the rest of my life.
