Hour two of Jammin With Juice kicks off with Carrie & Ben touching on the idea of co-op grocery stores ran by a council and members who get a vote and say so in all financial decisions regarding the store, while also highlighting a store that should be a feasible option for those affected by Pick N Save closings locally. Producer Glenn shares his experience growing up in a food desert in New York and the definition/concept of a bodega that may contribute more to the larger problem. Later into the hour Ben takes us down his “Rabbit Hole” inspired by a funny video he saw on Facebook, where a man tried to justify not drinking water of all things. Ben speaks on the history of water and his concerns for the health of those in fear or avoidance of the beverage like Carrie used to be.
