A sultan by the name of Shahryah (Dougray Scott) is super paranoid and angry because his ex-wife tried to kill him a while back. Because of this, Shahryah hates women. He decided he is going to marry a woman from the harem and kill her the morning after their wedding as a payback to all women for being murderous and man-hating. After being informed of Shahryah's vengeful plan, his chosen wife Sheherazade (Mili Avital) comes up with a genius plan She decides that once they are married, she will tell her new husband a series of enthralling stories (complete with morals and values and all of that good stuff) that are so good he won't want to kill her.John Leguizamo plays two characters - Genie of the Ring and Genie of the Lamp.
