Day 6: Break a Barrier! Buzzfeed News article: How white people can support people of color now, 1. Don’t ask your friends — or random internet acquaintances — of color to #process everything with you. 2. If you want to reach out to your friends of color to ask about how they’re feeling, it's ok, but don’t force a conversation. 3. Invest your energy into having difficult conversations with white people around you. That's our church conversation I mentioned in an episode earlier 4. We must speak into the circles of influence that we have-- Be bold and strong to speak up against anything degrading or disrespectful to others. 6. If you’re going to engage the country’s ongoing protests, do so responsibly. It's your right-- but don't violate someone elses rights while you are doing it. 7. Get involved for the long haul. It's not just the summer of 2020. No-- this problem isn't going away quickly-- it took nearly 400 years to get this far-- It will take decades of consistent and diligent attention to truley change. 8.
