In this episode: Remember: self initiation (aka asking or taking themselves to the potty) doesn’t usually CONSISTENTLY happen until 3-6 weeks AFTER your start date This part of the process is often the most rushed by parents. your child deserves support and deserves to have you as their crutch while they’re learning this new skill let’s go over easy prompt times what to do if a significant amount of time has passed and your child is still not initiating Stop empty cheerleading “you’re such a big kid!” background ways to boost autonomy which builds and prompts self initiating when this was recorded, these toddlers just came out of a pandemic, so could we please give them a fucking break and be patient with them?
