7. Taking Action On PFAS

First synthesized in the 30’s by Dupont. This substance called Teflon created a non-stick substance that would not dissolve and could make other materials more durable and long lasting. Despite red flags being waved in 1960, it wasn’t until the 1990’s when PFAS were being regularly detected in the environment and luckily now there is action being taken to rid the earth of PFAs forever.
