70 años de Birth of the Cool, el proyecto que sofisticó el jazz

En septiembre de 1948 el trompetista Miles Davies junto con Gil Evans y ocho músicos más, entre ellos los destacados John Lewis y Gerry Mullingan, desarrollaron una novedosa -para su momento- propuesta musical que derivó en dos presentaciones en aquel año y en enero y abril de 1949 el inicio de la grabación de lo que ahora conocemos como Birth of the Cool, disco que abriría una nueva corriente dentro de la escena jazz del mundo. En esta emisión recordamos este histórico disco a 70 años de su creación y grabación. ************************* In September 1948 the trumpet player Miles Davies, together with Gil Evans and eight other musicians, among them the outstanding John Lewis and Gerry Mullingan, developed a new -for its moment- musical proposal that resulted in two presentations that year and in January and April of 1949 the beginning of the recording of what we now know as Birth of the Cool, album that would open a new current within the jazz scene of the world.
