Silvestr se v Česku slaví večer a pak celou noc. Proč? Protože přes den pracujeme. Večer je pak ale super! Lidé pijí dobré pití a jedí dobré jídlo. Tedy hlavně starší lidé. Mladí lidé rádi hodně pijí. Někdy až moc. Slovo “Silvestr” pro nás znamená poslední den roku a velkou párty. Silvestr se slaví až do rána! Důležitá je ale i půlnoc. O půlnoci si ťukáme šampaňským a přejeme “Šťastný nový rok”. A všichni se objímají a pusinkují! A co vy? Jak slavíte Silvestr vy?   Literal Translation: Silvestr (New Year’s Eve) is in Czechia celebrated in the evening and then the whole night. Why? Because over the day we work. The evening is afterwards really cool! People drink good drinks and eat good food. Well, especially the eldery (starší = older) people. Young people like a lot drinking. Sometimes too much. The word “Silvestr” means for us the last day of the year and a big party. Silvestr is celebrated till the morning! Important is also the midnight. At midnight we clink glasses of champagne and wish (each other) Happy New Year. And everybody hug each other and kiss each other! And how about you?
