70. Success Doesn’t Always Need to Come Quickly

from Coaches on a Mission

Okay, let’s talk about the problem with Hustle Culture, shall we? My guest today is Ketetha Olengue who is a Resident Physician In Training, and also runs a coaching program called Developing Doc. Her program helps medical students who envision a bright and rewarding future get clarity on what they actually want as a physician. Developing Doc started out of a place of necessity and has since transformed into a meaningful mission for Ketetha. She came into our conversation hoping to walk away with a sustainable plan for her business while she completes the last two and a half years of her residency. And we did create that plan. But rather than a plan, we really created space for Ketetha to breathe during this extremely busy phase in her life. You see, Ketetha has no experience “moving slow” in life, so she has been running her business with the belief that she needed to grow it “now or never”. This Hustle Culture approach ate away at Ketetha’s confidence and caused her to question whether or not her business is viable. By the end of our conversation, Ketetha was able to make a confident decision and have actionable steps to take toward her long term vision. If you ever find yourself believing the lie of hustle culture this episode is for you.
