Q: What do you get when China & the NBA go toe-to-toe? A: Yao Ming The Chinese LOVE basketball. The Chinese ADORE the NBA. The Chinese government HATES an outspoken NBA. It feels like a $4 billion NBA business in China was flushed down the toilet overnight with one tweet: "Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong" Is this bigger than the NBA? Yup. Do American companies have a spine when it comes to China? Nope. Is this really all Daryl Morey's fault? Daryl WHO? Episode #71, y'all. He's a former corporate guy that developed a brain-training system for Marine Special Ops on how to sniff out an IED device (booby traps) in Afghanistan. Basically, it boils down to mental agility: can a Marine take in TONS of info in the moment and make a critical decision to save his/her own life? Spoiler alert: the Marine CAN. John taught them how.
