71. November Bonus: Emotional Labor Part 2: the women who hold it all together

We’re back for Part 2 of our deep dive into emotional labor in Gilmore Girls!Enjoy this preview. For the full episode, join our Patreon, where you’ll get extra bonus episodes every month. In Part 2 of this series, we explore how the women of Gilmore Girls -  from Emily to Lorelai and even side characters like Sasha - boost up the men around them by dimming their own light or taking on most of the emotional, care, community, and relational work.We also dig into the bigger picture: how women are often the ones building community, preserving important family relationships (we’re looking at you, Trix!) and carrying the emotional weight for others. From Emily helping Richard recover (it’s all about the fish) to Lorelai supporting Luke through surprise family drama, the women of Stars Hollow are constantly doing the quiet, unseen work of care and community that keep everything going.Grab your coffee and settle in - this is one of our favorite conversations yet about the emotional heartbeat of Gilmore Girls.🎙Edited and produced by Jackie Procyk and Catherine Bailey.
