This talk explores the true origins of the board game and how its original creator intended it as a way to learn about Georgism. Most do not know this, including myself before listening to the talk, but the inventor, Lizzie Magie, was a sharp political commentator of her time. Using all sorts of creative methods, including the board game itself, Lizzie was a shrewd political critic of her era. As a progressive during the gilded age, Ms. Magie used her voice to shed light on the struggles of civil rights movements.
