72. Decolonizing Lent

The Righteous, Ratchet & Real Podcast is a weekly conversation between sister friends, ministers who met while pursuing their doctoral degrees. These discussions are meant for those who love God but side-eye the church. The conversations are ones you won't get in the pulpit but are just as sacred. We are discussing the nuanced journey of decolonizing faith within Black communities. In this episode, we reflect on the evolution of Lenten practices, from initial observations to deeper understandings. We discuss the challenges of deconstructing faith and the tensions between academic study and spiritual growth. Through candid conversations, we unpack the process of decolonizing faith, questioning interpretations of scripture, and seeking liberation within theological frameworks.
