73. Getting over Perfectionism & Doing the Practical Thing with Shelby Abrahamsen

If you’re one of those people who feels like you need to get everything perfect before you put your stuff out there, this episode is for you!My guest this week is Shelby, a full-time artist and online content creator of Little Coffee Fox, and an online art education platform called Foxsy. She loves watercolors, digital art, lettering, and tons of other artistic mediums, and helping people discover the power of creativity and how transformative it can be. Shelby strives to help her students get in touch with art again and she’s definitely helped me rediscover my creative side that I abandoned since I was a kid because I thought I was ‘bad’ at art and it was a waste of time and money. We talk about Shelby’s own journey from her very practical decision to study human factors psychology and her unexpected journey into the world of art as her career. The bottomline is that sometimes doing something you love and turning it into your career involves lots of trial and error that’s not always neat, tidy and perfect.
