74. What Feedback Actually Says About You And How To Use It

from Public Speaking, Get Promoted, Storytelling, Sales, Marketing, Visibility: Be In Demand

What others say about you has nothing to do with you personally. Too many times I see people taking feedback as a personal judgment on them and their character. That’s not what feedback is at all and it took me a long time to understand that.  Today, I see feedback through a different lense and it’s the way I support my clients in reviewing feedback as well. I’ll take you BTS as I review feedback from a recent presentation and you’ll hear what I’ll do next time as a result of one person’s honest feedback.   Check out what you’ll learn: Feedback is never about you personally and how to see it through the lense of the person giving the feedback How I appreciate the neutral and not so positive feedback for my next speech. You can apply this theory to programs you run. How to be curious when reviewing feedback and what to do afterwards that will get you more opportunities, from speaking gigs to more clients. PLUS, I’m walking you through the feedback I got from a recent presentation.   Links and resources mentioned in this episode: Get on the Waitlist to craft your signature speech !
