75: Men’s Mental Health with Franko Heke

from Elevate Your Soul · host Arelle Hug

Today I interview Franko Heke on creating awareness of the social conditioning around what you “should” be like growing up as a male in the western world, specifically Kiwi culture & society and how that contributes to New Zealand having one of the highest rates of male suicide in the world. We cover so many things in this episode such as; how to help and support having a friend or loved one that is suicidal, advice on what you can do yourself to help get you out of your depression, how men can seek for emotional help, early warning signs of depression in kids, advice for parents raising kids in the western world, specifically male teens around kiwi culture, and Franko shares his message to anyone listening to this episode who is having a hard time battling with mental health themselves. You can check out his work at www.frankoheke.com and his festivals with his partner Nikki at www.nzspirit.com or contact him through Instagram: @frankoheke
