Yeah, this piece of shit of an arm now that I've got every time, like the last bit of me I've been doing it, it's been pissing me off to no end. Like the thread on this is, I'll tell you what, so this is helping the bedroom right now mate. Yeah. You know, this is wedged between my fucking, my mattress, this arm.
You have a mattress on the side of the bed. I mean it's a good set of, you know, I said you're pretty happy with it. But it's easy doing that and fucking about this little kind of, it's kind of like a clamp, you know, like a vice sort clamp. But the thread that attaches to the microphone now is fucked.
It's absolutely fucked. I mean it only cost me like 20 quid or something. So I'm going to have to upgrade now to maybe 50 quid one. Cause you know, you learn, don't you?
It's like skating mate or like fucking weed or like beer. But any of those things you do know a difference between a 60 quid board and a fucking 40 quid board. You know, it seems you pop the first ollie on it, you know. Same with the old weed, you know, like we were talking about in the previous episodes.
You've got, there's a certain standard, you buy that fucking cheap fucking grass. You know what I mean, it's going to be harsh as fuck on your throat. Probably give you a bit of a headache. It's probably not going to give you that kind of nice, relaxed, floaty feeling that you're supposed to get from having a nice joint.
That's it. And the same with beer as well. You know, you just get that higher caliber of flavour. So you just, so I'm going to have to invest in the arms.
It's like the buy, shake, buy twice. That's it. That's it. You've got to try the bargains.
Cause sometimes they're fucking good. So you've got to try it, right? But when you know once, you know that I know one of these, but in about X amount of months, it's going to expire. It's kind of like longevity as well, isn't it?

But there's a certain point where you probably have to buy a better car, you know, because economically you know that you're not going to have to put as much money into it. Even though you think, oh, I've got this car for a grand or I've got this car for 500 quid.

They got like a merch. I think I've just seen the shoes. I've just seen the shoes. I don't know if they actually.
Just the blue links I think I've seen. You know, really nice to come away. And the only reason I honestly haven't really looked on the old, because those links weren't unavailable or weren't available on the drug date on the actual DC website. They only pushed it for skate shops.
It was actually pretty cool. Obviously, you get a lot of people who are just going for the resale. It's not too many people go crazy for the links, but they still do go. And they obviously support a lot of the skateboarders.
So they just pushed them out to the skate shops. I'm just on the website now seeing if they dropped the relative clothes. Yeah, I know it just all I can see on here is the shoes and the sharp lists. So I thought they might have done.
The shoes are epic. Great cut away. Like the cheeky sabotage strip going on the tongue. That's what makes you keep that shoe a fresh for longer.
You're going to walk around the house. Keep it slipper if you will. I've got some Wolverine vans. I don't wear vans.
I did back in the day when they did rally XLT's and shit like that. I'm not a van's wearer, but I've got these Wolverine ones. Biggest van. So now they're tucked underneath the bed anyway.
They're a slipper shoe now. I can't be wearing them round. One thing I'm ideal to wear in some new eras or something like that. I mean, that in my gimmick, but they're a nice slipper.
So the link sabotage will be a nice take later that whatever mate and just have that as a run DMCE just. Right. Indoor chillers. Yeah, exactly.
Well, let's say well, listeners if you didn't know it is but Bill's birthday today is a big one as well. It's a big one as well. It's a big one. It's a big one birthday.
That's right. It was my 30th today. Still feeling nice and one. You're looking fucking young mate.
You're looking as good as ever. That's a funny one thinking about it really. I'm obviously going to go too crazy about it. But I was trying to think like, what's the last 10 years been like and fucking hell.
I think from 20 to 25, a lot of shit goes down. A lot of nests as well. But from 25 to 30, it's been way more calculated. Probably some of the best years of my life so far.

I'm 34 in November. Fucking goes down real quick from there mate. I tell you from 30. Stress, responsibilities, all of that shit.
You've got to feel young. I was talking to someone boy yesterday. The job I was at and talking about, I say it at a time when it was a client. I think it was a time when you stopped doing that shit.
I was like, you never stopped trying to do that shit. You've got to stay young for as long as you fucking can mentally and physically. I mean, sometimes you've got to, I was even saying that at a certain point I thought about you mate about drops. When I was younger, I was 15.
I loved to jump down a big shit. I could possibly find. If there's a half-pipe, I'd try and jump off of it. If I could jump off it, then a kick book comes out and try.
That was the game plan. But then the all you get, you've got to calculate. I've got to work on Monday. What height you can go for.
At some point I was like, right, six, similar height is me. Anything I can go with. Then the older I've got, the more it's coming down. Now I think shoulder height's fine.
Shoulder height. I don't need to go much higher. That's a good seven. Seven is not scary.
I don't need a nine in my life anymore. I remember skating in the Flushing Meadows Park that was at the Mooof Money Cup. It was right next to the fountain that you always see in the DC video. It's flushing with a big silver globe.
I'd love to go there. It's awesome. Jumping over that gap is special. You get goosebumps doing it.
They've got the Mooof Money Cup Park right next to it. There's a nine there, which isn't massive. It's big enough for a skate park. That's why seven belongs in a skate park.
When you start getting nine's and tens in a park, it's like, unless you're pro, what the fuck you throwing down those things, you're just going to jump down a couple of times and you've got the heart rate going. You're not going to really enjoy jumping down it. I wasn't going to. There's not too many people who enjoy the big sash like that.
I'm probably at you with the shoulders. Maybe more comfortable with more nipple height. I'm saying that maybe nipple height is fair. It would have been episode two or three.
I was talking to Chris Fanna. He was talking about how high he can ollie and his degaja. If it's any button height, he can ollie that. We're talking about nipple height is what we throw up.
He's bad ass motherfucker. He's got super pop. I like that. That's a good gauge.
That's a good gauge. What the fuck is my gauge now? I've always got those iceberg barriers. I don't know what they call them in the states, but I call them iceberg.
I'm talking about the barriers you get on the side of the road. That's always my gauge in my head. It's a similar height to the big one. I know I can get over that.
That's how I know. It isn't like a point in my body where it is. I know I can get over the big one and I can kick flip the medium size ones on a good day. The medium size ones I can flip over one of them.
The big ones, yeah, I can get my arse over it. That's the gauge. I think mine is just it just hovers around the waist depending on how much I've been skating. How good the board is at the time.
Grip wise and how much grip I've got on my shoes. It averages around that belt line. The days may be a bit higher, not too much more. Maybe it hits the box a line then.
Sometimes a little bit less. We'll see. It depends where your deck is at. Freshboards are nice because it gives you a lot of ping.
It's always slightly less controlled ping. Whereas you've had a board three days and you've skated a couple of times. Then your board's prime in there. You've taken around, you've taken for a nice meal, you get to know where we stand with each other.
Now I can proceed to escape. You're able to just manipulate that board. I know what you mean though. When it's a bit too puppy, you might be able to get it right up there.
But it's probably on a bit of an angle. It's probably not connected to your feet properly. You're not really pulling that. It's just not sticking.
I remember skating the first time I skated the numbers board. My kick flip. I've got a decent kick flip. You can do what I need to do with it.
It was so fucking quick. It was up. It flipped half way up. It was that quick or a flip.
It didn't work for me. It just looked really nice. It wasn't like that controlled. I want it to be at the peak.
I want it to flip. Like an ollie. At the peak, that's the catch point. And obviously sometimes if you're being lazy, it's going to be on the way down.
But this one was so quick. Just flipping however the concave worked. I think I was getting some adidas as well, which were kind of slim shoe, which gives you a lot of flick. But I would say less control.
It's kind of like almost too much because it's just a pointy shoe. So it just fires it. It's like a little bit of a stick. It's like a little bit of a stick.

And then we'll go for the main event with the, what was that one called? Is that no love lost? I think that's the one you're on about is the first one. The documentary kind of talking one.
Yeah. And then the other one is just the sabotage times DC. Yes. So the documentary came out on the 1st of September and then the actual weird came out two days later, which is a nice calculated way of doing it.
I mean, I really like their approach that it's kind of like, you know, if you don't know DC, which you fucking should do, here's a little bit of, you know, here's some history. Here's what these boys are doing in 2021, which is fucking mental because if someone shows you the video, you wouldn't say it's now. Yeah. And that's what I always just go back to.
I'll watch it before we came on again. So it's probably like the fucking third time I've watched it. And it just goes back to, like I was saying, probably on a few previous episodes, mate. It's like seeing skateboarding look like that just makes me happy.
It's like that is exactly how skateboarding should be done, how it should be approached, everything. It's just, yeah, it's just, it's just bang on. Oh, yeah. It's just so, so enjoyable to watch.
Great spots, great trick selections, great style. Yeah, absolutely love it. Sabotage guy is fucking killing it. And I will say, I don't know if you might have been on their website, mate, but I went on their website for the first time the other day.
And it's the fucking coolest fucking website going. Like it's exactly like, if I could pay you some other fucking to make the turbo website, like that kind of like just with the glitches and a pop up and just like the rawness and old school fucking Windows 95, Windows Explorer sort of shit. Yep. And the product and it just in the backgrounds they've got on it.
Like if you listen to me now and you're just fucking, if you're on a phone, it might be difficult. If you're on Apple podcast, you might be able to go into the older safari or whatever at the same time, mightn't you? But go and check that shit out because it's fucking, it's so good. They've got a video playing straight away.
Oh, I'll bring you right back straight into the scene. Oh, yeah, definitely agree with you guys. Really capturing that time and moment and they just absolutely owned it. Yeah, it's the attention to detail they've got.
They go the extra mile to make it fucking make it how it was, you know, and it made me think like I've tried to do it with turbo. We just get the right video games with the right concept behind it on all the pictures and that sort of shit. And we're close, but when you look at that, like the rawness of that, it's like fuck me, we've got a long way to go. And we'll hopefully we'll get there, but they do it well.
They do it so they're so authentic. And you can just tell they fucking love what they're doing, you know, it's special. Yeah, it's definitely wrapped up all in there. Like it's almost like a little time capsule.
They literally just never let go and just kept it exactly how they like it. So yeah, definitely. It's not just about the skateboard and it's about the whole era, the whole scene. And the thing about that era, mate, it was so important to us.
We know it's one of the DC video back in the day. That was so like that shaped everything about my skateboarding. You know what I mean? That video probably went on.
There's a few videos at the time. Obviously, you know, you'd rotate your four ones and just watch them fucking over and over again. But like the DC video, I know a lot of people like the Baker, you know, Baker 3 and Baker and everything. I did enjoy it.
Obviously, Andrew Reynolds in front of it. So I did fucking love it. But there was something at the DC video and those old boys with Stevie Williams and fucking K-LIS. You know what I mean?
And then seeing Danny Way as well because it's just ridiculous shit. But seeing those old boys just operate like that on the ground, you know, at Love Park. That was one of those places that was on my bucket list to go to. And I fucking never got to go there.
You know what I mean? But hopefully I will get to go to the Munian fucking skatepark. You know, skatepark's that big domino. Yeah.
It's just something about that that grabbed me more than any of the other shit that was not going about. You know what I mean? Obviously, fucking skinny white boy kid from fucking the suburbs of England. You know what I mean?
See, in that, but maybe that's what caught my eye. Maybe I fucking liked seeing that sort of edge that they had. But it was definitely just grabbing me more than anything else. Yeah, it's a very similar scenario.
I fucking know why I like to say much same sort of thing from like small suburbs, style of town, like a little town on the outside of the outside of Foxwood City or whatever. Maybe probably just the absolute rauna so it all, you know, mix of all culture in there. And so many people have come from there who are fucking just all over it at the time. Like I said, Baker Free, some, you know, I watched a lot of stuff before Baker Free hit my radar as a young skater.
But when it did, Baker Free's great, obviously, but it's like another totally different scene. Not saying I don't like that scene. Baker scene was fucking dope. And I'm sure a lot of people hold it close to their heart, but this was just absolute raw.
Baker was more of a super collective of different styles and people in one where sabotages like, they're a group of one in one homies at the spot where other homies are at like an allied place. Yeah. Going back to Baker Free, like the first time I saw Andrew Reynolds skate and his frontside flips, everything like that, was in Birdhouse at the end. So he was in that, which is one of the first videos that kind of really, really kind of got me going, learning how to do tricks.
You know, I always had a fucking sheet, it was skateboard in my shed, but actually learned how to do tricks. That was the one, but Andrew Reynolds and I had baggy jeans, mate. You know what I mean? Exactly.
You look like you come around to Baker Free, mate. Even though skinny motherfuckers, any of those flips, and they don't look as good. Those four cabs and those Nolly 360s down the stairs, they don't look good. It still makes them look good, but it doesn't look as good as those baggy motherfuckers and his stripy polo shirts or whatever you still like to wear back back in the day.
As soon as you see that, it is like in. And you know you're going to watch it again, so it's not going to ruin it. Oh yeah. I'm sure as soon as you saw it, it's like fucking banging less, let's send the learning tree and just soak some shit in.
Yeah, I know it's coming out and obviously England's about seven hours ahead of us. So you put it on the WhatsApp group, I was at work in the morning, I was like, fuck, I can't watch this, right? I'm driving a machine or whatever, so as soon as I get home, that was the first thing I did. And I didn't even, you know what I mean, have a shower, do all that shit first before I sit down and have my little time or whatever I fucking, I had to watch it.
Yeah, and just the way that they've got some classic fucking heads in there. I mean, obviously they haven't got loads and loads of con like talking heads that could have been in the love park, talking about love park. I suppose it wasn't all about love park, was it? It's more about passing a torch from that era.
So you don't need every motherfucker from love park to be talking. Even though it was important, you just need to be a couple of people that were different backgrounds to be there and to talk about it. But you know, I've said it fucking thousands times on to Kerry Getz as one of my favourite skaters of all time, Philly motherfucker. You know, hang with Bam and loads of good footage at love park.
But you don't need to get everyone just to the sake of it. And I think they picked it. I think they did well. Maybe get a bit Stevie in there would have been nice, but if you've got K-list, that's all you fucking need.
And if you've got a playback fucking on the photography side of things, just talking some shit, then you're pretty well rounded. So I think it's been with an old school and a new school pretty well. Yeah, I think you're definitely right there. It's always nice to have some extras in there.
But as well, some of the guys who are few who are listening, it wasn't just your average little love park documentary that pop up once a year or once every couple of years. This was like Ryan said, the passing of the torch because sabotage is a crew. They're keeping this alive. Obviously, everyone who's been in Philly, they're not like a complete direct link to sabotage.
Some of them are inspirations and the trail end, you know, people growing up to these people skating in front of them, learning everything. So it's a fucking really interesting one to watch. Yeah, it's just really nice hearing that someone like Jamir Brown, who's a fucking six-gate and will get to, you know, he gets a decent section in the actual one. He's got some good tricks under his belt.
But listen to him talk about, kind of like, you know, it's a reflection on him. He's basically saying to you or the viewer, this is what inspired me. And I've kind of always had that kind of in the back of my mind. You wear the shit and you skate a certain way.
You don't need to care about what tricks you do to impress someone. It's nothing about that. I like front-side flip. I mean, you like front-side flip.
And there's reasons, there's probably different reasons why we like front-side flip, mate. You know, that's a projection of the influence that we had, you know, from growing up. Because my mind was probably more less Tom Penny, you know what I mean, more Rowan Reynolds. And yours, maybe a bit more Musco, I don't know, maybe your technique is, but you tell me what was your influence on your front-side flip because it's a fucking person.
Yeah, exactly. Probably not so much the same people as you, probably a bit of Musco. Ah, just probably just the whole barrage of everyone doing it. Yep.
But you know, it was nice hearing him talk about that. You know, it's like, yeah, he's right. You know, he's kind of edgy. He's just giving you a little nod.
He's just saying, I'm skating these shoes because one thing I look fucking sick, but also that felt right. And I mean, just keep looking. As soon as I fucking finish watching it, mate, I was on the DC fucking web site and I was like, fuck me. I need to stop wearing these nights and get back on the DC.
You know, I mean, I'm really, I enjoy night because they last, they last long. They figured well and it's a, you know, I joined more than I did. I did actually have a bit too slim. I tried it out, give him a good test, you know, but, you know, skating links or a fucking classic K-list.
You know, I mean, now it would be, I mean, probably, you know, why would you want to, if you had a classic, the classic K-list with the bubble in it, mate? Have you got someone there? Do you skate them or not? Are they?
I have never. Yeah. I've wore outside once on a sunny day to the mall. So I didn't leave the car.
I walked inside the mall and I felt bad after that. Yeah, I got the black and gold K-list is made. Yeah. Yeah.
So I just, it's like, that's you so good. You can't, you can't be disrespected then by walking around and just putting yourself in a situation you might know what situation you're going to fall into, mate. Like, you're saying, go for the mall in it. You can't do it.
