Joseph M. Spencer is a philosopher and an associate professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. He is the author of seven books and dozens of articles and book chapters. He has served as the editor of The Journal of Book of Mormon Studies, the associate director of The Latter-day Saint Theology Seminar, and a vice president of The Book of Mormon Studies Association.
