76 \\ A Heart the Enemy Cannot Occupy
from Jesus Timeout Hosted by Juliana Page
Life will give you opportunities to be offended. People may disappoint you, wound you, misunderstand you, or fail to give you what they should have. You are not responsible for everything that happens to your heart—but you are responsible for stewarding what happens in it. In this Jesus Timeout, Juliana teaches from Hebrews 12:15: the invitation to watch carefully so that we do not fall short of the grace of God or allow a root of bitterness to grow and create trouble. Bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, and offense are not harmless reactions. When left unchecked, they can become a place of agreement and a stronghold the enemy uses to distort our peace, relationships, discernment, and future. A pure heart does not mean pretending pain did not happen. It means bringing that pain to Jesus, refusing to rehearse offense, releasing what you cannot carry, and keeping your inner life guarded in grace. You are the bishop—the overseer and guard—of your own heart. Let the Holy Spirit help you keep it tender, clean, and free.
