Welcome back to Overwatch Radio, this is Part 2 of Episode 76, also known as Episode 77. Let's move on ladies and gentlemen. We've had a load of different content knocking about universities days, but what if we like to talk about what if, don't we? I don't know if you've seen what if Jono has seen a couple of them.
I think I've seen a couple of them. I've just seen the most recent episode. Take us through with the journey. If I talk about what if, I really enjoy what they're doing with what if, they don't get me wrong.
But it's difficult because they've got a cater to the fucking, the film universe, I call it the film universe, the MCU universe. So a lot of the what ifs have got to be a riff on what is happening within the films. And I guess they've had some really good stuff. But I guess it is tricky because you've got to think, and the zombie one was the one that I thought the most, they thought how can we work, how can we work this into the MCU?
And I like the way they gave fucking Michelle Fife for a fucking zombie play for being in the quantum zone. It's a good way to put it in my mind back. I mean they fucking ate that much shit in my mind. What if I know what if I know what if I know what if I know what if I know what if I know what if they basically like, they obviously wanted zombies.
Like they definitely wanted zombies because like the zombie shit. It's good shit. Everyone loves the zombies. Everyone loves the zombies.
So it's good episode and they got to have the fucking Spider-Man with the fucking cake. But it's one of those things where we're in a comic universe, we're in an MCU, we're in the fucking 616 universe. Your what ifs is so fucking wide open, you could do anything with them. But I think, I was thinking about everything, I was thinking about it, they restricted themselves.
But when you look back to the original what ifs, the original what ifs, I think were probably around about probably 70s, 80s maybe. They weren't quite late on, they weren't fucking, so you're sort of working with what you had with your Spider-Man and your Fantastic Force. So really, the original what ifs. The original what ifs, yeah, yeah.
I was like Spider-Man joined the fucking Fantastic Force or what if Jane Foster had Force Hammer. So a lot of stuff was quite restricted in itself because they didn't have the fucking world they had now. So when you sort of think about that, you're looking at the cartoon, you're actually, they're working with the same parameters. So they are building on those stories.
So I fucking, the first that fucking Peggy Carter Captain America, or Peggy Carter Captain Captain Carter? Captain Britain, yeah. Fuckin hands down, that was one of my favourite. Peggy Carter was such a fucking iconic character and they've done this.
And now I think you're going to see so much more of where it acts in the fucking MCU. I really hope so. I'm really hopes up. I know that originally that's the fucking Captain Carter.
She appeared in a fucking Marvel like a game and it was like a fucking Tetris, like fucking on your phone, fucking, it was a throwaway character in that and then someone threads a fucking lighter because if you ever read the exiles, the exiles coming, if listeners, if you're out there, exiles coming, did you want to go back and fucking tell them that, that's like a fucking what if, but it's got a co-hoon story for Al. But anyway, in not the fucking, when they had the exiles, then you had the fucking exiles reboot and then you had the fucking other exiles reboot about five years ago now. So you came into that, Peggy, the fucking Captain Carter was in that. But she was only a knight.
I think too. What was the gimmick in that? Peggy Carter, it was Peggy's sort of story. She's fucking, she's kept, like a Captain Carter.
Nice. But they took the Captain Carter from the game and then they brought her into the comics. They went to introduce her into the fucking universe. But again, and then, but she was only in a couple of fucking comics and then he was a fucking throwaway character.
But obviously they'd done the fucking what if and they brought her back in. I think people are now starting to realise that this fucking version of Peggy Carter, people didn't fucking join her. People didn't fucking love it. When she had that fucking shield and sword, the end of that fucking what if episode and fucking fury and apple out, you're thinking that's a fucking iconic character, like hands down.
See, you know, from a fucking British point of view, right, seeing that character and all of that also being a fan of Captain Britain and its caliber and all of that shit. Like Matt was saying, you see it with a shield and a sword. The shield and sword, it's not like, you know, when an American character has a shield and a sword, you know, do they, I don't know, but in English or British character with all the fucking Merlin and fucking King Arthur and all that sort of shit. And all that fucking nights are from in it.
I don't know. They're fucking nights. Once you see that fucking, that's what she's envisaged, man. It's, and also you're putting a woman in that powerful position that she should, you know, she was powerful in the film.
I don't think we're wrong. In the first of Enjay, Captain America, she, I mean, no, I'm mess with her. So let's not, let's not forget that. But it's given her that like, that extra little bit that it's probably, it's a cooler idea than the fucking Captain America is really.
It worked. I think it's, I think they've been teasing it for so long now, but they want to pull it in. I think, I think you're going to see a lot more of fucking Captain Carter, where it acts in the fucking comics or that's in the fucking end. So he's going to be someone that's coming up.
Do you reckon they'll do their own show? Like, they'll just continue that storyline on, like Disney+, well, I think what they've got with the, the option they've got with the wife stuff is that any of those fucking stories that they tell, if they, if someone goes, that's the fucking best thing ever seems, if that gets popular, they can just continue on. But the different, the thing I'm thinking about the wife stuff, this different from the comics is there seems to be a coherent story following through. I know every episode has been different, but I've seen some fucking, some clips of shit coming up and there seems to be like a fucking team up of every person that's been in the water so far.
So it seems to be like, they're, I don't know if they're putting into an arch and exile type story or they're building up to something. So you're going to get like fucking chalastar lord teaming up with fucking party for teaming up with fucking doctor strangers, like fucking doctor strangers, like they're going to team up together. Because at the end of this last one, have you seen the most recent life for one? And at the end, there was like a fucking, there's all the ultraman army, but there was like a fucking someone in an ultraman army.
With the eventy corona? Yeah, but it was like a zombie fucking Tony Stark or some shit like that. Do you think I said it was? To me, I didn't, I didn't literally watch it back on your phone, I just thought it was ultraman.
I thought it was ultraman with the- Nah, because like, it's my fucking- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I couldn't- So like, the thing is, they're obviously, they're tying all that shit together, so there's some, there's a big bad, I mean that fucking multiverse, and so they've obviously got to get everyone that we've had to so far to get into fight it. So as opposed to the what is being a single story, I mean the single story each thing is what I feel is like, and that what we're always going to be about to come into is just like what is fucking someone else got beating by the radius of spider? Well, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but they're obviously trying to put a cohesive story underneath the what if on Disney Plus. I mean, I mean, join, I just fucking get it.
You might as well, because even if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter. Yeah, and if there is some sort of like, like you're saying, some cohesion between even a couple of it, you know, just, you don't have to be all of it, just a little, just a little, I think that would be good with that. Yeah. Then you can just do a tag team.
You don't have to go every single person. Yeah. I mean, Captain Carter, any of these motherfuckers, I could really, really hope that I would get the live action Captain Carter or, you know, just a Captain Carter animated film because I think there's enough, there's enough, like, it's just easy watching in it. It's just like, I mean, I've said it before, I don't have a certain term, I think I did.
Give that woman some fucking muscles because she just give a little bit of refinement there because of Captain America's in there, they fucking roid it in. It's a bit weird that it's like, I don't want to keep her feminine in everything, but I'm scared, that's not to be scared. That's not to be scared of a fucking a woman, because it's powerful. If she's that strong and that fucking powerful and this, that, and the other, like, we should not be scared of definition.

So he knows like a bit of bands and he's a bit more fucking grounded. They needed it. I mean, really? Four needs Loki more than Loki before.
Every version of any version of Loki we've seen is being a fucking top level lad. But the Rawscenes are four we've seen. Fucking middle and end. Shaky in it.
Yeah. So really, if you look at it, fucking Loki's a fucking top man in my eyes. Oh, I think he's quality. Yeah, especially the blue Loki.

I think my favorite episode. My favorite of those is what is. It's got to be that Peggy Carter without a doubt. Hands down.
I mean, that's the first one. Yeah. It's so good. But I also like the, I mean, the tennis style old one.
It was a bit like when they got the fucking the fan also was good. I think I feel a bit what they were doing is like, I got the rest of his soul fucking Chadwick Bozeman. And I imagine he's a fucking lovely guy. And they wanted to sort of, it was more of a tribute to Chadwick.
I think to say like, he's a fucking lovely guy. And if you met him, it changed the way you fucking think you become a better person. And I believe you would. I mean, I think that's true.
But they sort of added that element into the fucking story. So it's a bit like, it's a bit of a perfect world where everyone Chadwick spoke to it. It would become better. And I enjoyed it.
And the grandmaster in that, when the grandmaster just fucking had everything, he was like, let's say everything because Fanos wasn't there. Kind of works because maybe you did for that boy. But I just, I don't know. If I was doing a fucking, the thing is again, you restricted to the fucking MCU and yeah.
And it is weird that they called him Star Lord because there was a fucking backstory behind why Chris Pratt fucking Star Lord was called Star Lord because of his fucking ego. His dad knew that shit. Exactly. It was a bit weird how he became Star Lord.
But I mean, again, to fucking Chadwick both of them and I fucking Star, I mean, it was a good episode. I think, I think the whole of the what if is they're all very like, I've said it fucking so many times. If it came out on Boxet, you know, obviously we're at a different age, but you know, that came out on TV and then at a Blu-ray, like, you know, steel set, you know, steel box, Foxet. We're all be buying it.
Yeah, you're buying it. I'm not saying this is my favourite thing. Yeah, you definitely get a fucking six-inch figure for you. And it'll be like a little fucking movie sale that you can look through.
It'll be a real nice little box set, you know, a couple of trading cards. It'll be fucking good. Actually, it'll be a really good box set and you'll be well into it. You'll be well into it.

But it was really, really good. But it's nothing, it's nothing exceptional. None of it is like, you know, nine out of ten or whatever or five out of five turbo rating or anything like that. They're all, I'd say most of them are kind of like just solid threes.
I'm not knocking it. I'm just saying it's just nothing necessarily happens in some of them. But you enjoy every single one of them. Yeah.
I'm not, I don't want to, I don't want to attack it and say shit because it's not. And I've watched literally, I've watched all of them and enjoyed every single one of them. But like you're saying, you've got a little bit of restriction there. So you've got to kind of play, you've got to have the origin story that we bought, that we know as, well, that we don't know that they mass media, mass population noise.
I mean, I did like how they, the one where Nick Fury won, where Tony Stark was getting killed and fucking Bruce Banner was getting killed. I mean, that was good. I did like the way they pulled in the fucking Hulk films as well because they don't get talked about a lot within the M. series, a bit Blasade over.
So it's kind of good to have like live, live Taylor. That's the name of the fucking, live Taylor. The Tyler. Sorry, Steve the Tyler.
Sorry fucking Eric Smith. Yeah, I'm talking about, I figured it was good to be able to, that fucking, but like that film that he was in, the fucking above an Asian film, and actually, that they sort of tied that into the MCU more because that shit is all being ignored in it. And it shouldn't be. But again, it's also a bit like, it's like that one felt like it was two episodes, wasn't it?
Because it was like the fucking payoff was the fucking Hulk was a sealed agent you got killed. So Hank Pimm was fucking killing everyone. It's a bit like that could have been two separate stories like the whole fucking hope being a sealed agent could have been like a whole fucking episode. I don't know, I like what they're doing, but I just feel like because they're a bit restricted that they have to tie into the MCU.
But we are seeing this from Marvel fucking. Yeah, I mean, we've got to think about that. We've got to accept that, you know, seeing Tony Stark in that kind of like, you know, four by four or whatever Afghanistan, wherever they are, and then getting saved by, by, let's just say, same story, same story, but get saved by someone else. You know, which again, I thought that episode was fucking quality.
I thought it was, it was just, you know, some of it's lame, some of it is lame, but you literally can say that about some of my favourite. But you know, Akira, literally the old Japanese animation, I fucking absolutely love that film, but some parts of it, but I will tell people when they first watch that, it's like, just stick with it. Like, they're taking me wrong, like, I absolutely love it. But like, when, I like to bet about it, no fucking watch all of it.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. The better about it is like two minutes of start, like, like, it's. Watch out. Yeah, watch the whole thing and when fucking, you know, the arm starts turning into motion.
That's it. But, you know, you know, just stick with it. I mean, everything about that film is fucking quality. It's soundtrack, the animation, the, like, everything.
But you know what I'm saying with it though, about sticking with it, just like, where am I now? Yeah. Yeah. You know, I'm at a motorboat gang and now I'm watching this all boy morph into, I don't know what.
So it's like, and then a couple of balls down and, you know, there's, there's a lot to it. Yeah, I mean, it's fucking quality. Watch it. Yeah.

But the things that you're watching it, and you're thinking, everything about this is fucking amazing. The things you can't process though, you know what you're actually doing at that point? You are processing it.
And that's the sort of stuff that actually impacts all you long term that you stick in, is you're actually like, you don't have a slap dash of pinion with it, that you can just go like, fuck this, or, oh, I like this, it's gonna be one of those. And I'm making this. You're literally absorbing it. It's just fucking blooming.
And I think like you say, because you have to stick with it, because you see this, and then it's quite, I mean, a story, there's a lot going on there. And they fucking, if you've read the fucking manga, and you know they fucking squashed a lot into the fucking film. They've done a good job on the film. What you're not like a fucking 12 boy, you're just like, this is fucking mad.
But yeah, I mean, I had an impact on me, I fucking love that. There you go then, there you go. What are we talking about? I have no idea.

Do you think that's what it's going to be?
Yeah. Also, they have re-released just recently. I was trying to pick up a copy myself. They've done a fucking waterformnebus in the, like the classic, what ifs, the old school ones, they pulled out in the nominations format.
Now there's two, there's one, there's just been released now, and there's one that's coming out in December. Which one has got the Wolverine, what if Hulk hit Wolverine? I think that's the second one. Because the cover of that is literally the, what if Hulk hit Wolverine?
Yeah, but yeah, but last. I hated that one, because I'll see. Give me Kill my boy, any. Yeah, yeah.
So if you, I mean, if you do, you want to pick that up, the first ones out now, so it's a good fucking, but again, that's the old school ones. Like what, what if fucking, someone else is beating, so what else is beating by the fucking spider and AP is pogger? What if Jane Foster was for, what if Spiderman joined the Fantastic for? What if America was the human torch?

I mean, like, it's when they did, like when Marvel did that British invasion, that, when was that? Like, early 90s, late 80s, early 90s. When they did the fucking British invasion, every motherfucker from now was working 2,000 AD. Yeah.

So they're just a fucking, a killing machine, and they get the whole thing is just destroyed. So I guess when you play against that, where's Pray there is, if you're fucking Hunter against Hunter.
Yeah, the gimmick in there, it's like wrestling. Some wrestlers, there's no point putting someone against someone else. Because you've got the same thing going on. You've always got to have the short guy versus the big guy, or you've got to have the muscle man against the fucking speedier.
