77. Stress, the Nervous System, and God’s Design for Rest

from Purposeful Whole Health - Increase Energy, Stress Management, Natural Remedies, Non-Toxic Living, Christian Living · host Melissa De La Cruz - Educator & Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

Stress impacts far more than most people realize. In today’s culture, many people are living in a constant state of pressure, stimulation, and overwhelm often without even recognizing it. Over time, this chronic stress keeps the nervous system stuck in “fight or flight,” affecting digestion, sleep, hormones, energy levels, immune health, and emotional well-being. But this was never God’s design for the body. In this episode, we explore how the nervous system works, why stress can become a root contributor to many health challenges, and how returning to God’s design for rhythm, rest, and peace can begin to restore balance. Through both a biblical and practical lens, we’ll talk about how modern life keeps the body in survival mode and why simple daily rhythms can help signal safety to the body again. Supporting your health doesn’t require complicated routines. Often the most powerful shifts come from returning to the simple rhythms and foundations God designed.   Learn with clarity. Grow in intentional habits. Rise in God’s calling. Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
