78. Running for Mental Health with Mark Avery
from The Betar Project · host Nick Betar
This week I am joined by Mark Avery to talk bout his journey from loosing a neighbour and close mate to cancer which lead Mark down a path of having panic attacks at work and masking his pain with alcohol. Funnily enough it was his daughter that came home with a Mickey Mouse drawing which said "If you can dream it, you can do it' that sparked Mark to sign up to a marathon and make a change in his life. From there he has done 21 half marathons in 21 days and 20 marathons in 20 days from Tweed Heads to Sydney all to raise money for Mental Health through The Gotcha4Life Foundation. He is now setting out to conquer the record for most distance ran in 24 hours which he is aiming to get 265km's to raise money for Outrun Cancer Foundation. It was a pleasure to chat to Mark and I am grateful for him taking some time out of his day to jump on the podcast. Also grateful for everyone who listens to the podcast, if it is you first time welcome I hope you enjoy.
