Mr. Gray’s Class Podcast Report Cards Live on Aeries Friday, March 5th Spring Conferences (by request only) As I say in the video, spring conference week is coming up in a few weeks. Spring Conferences are by parent request only. If you would like to have a conference simply send me an email telling me what you’d like to meet about (goals, 7th grade, grades, etc.). At that time I will schedule a conference with you. You may want to wait until grades are finalized around March 1st (or after report cards are available March 5th). As soon as you are ready we can schedule a conference, we don’t have to wait until the official conference week. Read Across America Day March 2nd Picture Day Thursday March 4th Virtual Guys Night Friday March 19th 7:00-8:15pm Reader’s Workshop The kids will continue  our unit on Deep Study of Character. Next week we will look at how troubles in stories turn into motifs, which turn into themes. We may also start looking for symbolism in our books. Writer’s Workshop The kids will spend the week rehearsing and recording their podcasts. We may also start our next unit, journalism. Math Math Answers and Help Here What happened to math class? We will continue our unit on Rational Numbers. We will study the coordinate plane the whole week and the kids will have their first homework quiz of this unit on Wednesday. The homework quiz takes questions directly from their homework. This quiz will go on trimester 3 grades. History The kids will finish studying Ancient China! We will study the ancient silk road, the Great Wall, and Terra Cotta Warriors. Science The kids will work with Miss Stevens in science lab and research endangered species in our class.
