As a leader it is your role and responsibility to craft, summarize and articulate your entire organizational hierarchy of values. Any business, family, or nation collapses when these three boundaries are re-ordered or ignored.I know I have harped on this idea of core values for a while. I do so because I am convinced it is a big deal. Companies, communities and countries which are built with no clearly expressed core values quickly lose their place. When no clear boundaries are established, ideals become commodities. In other words if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything. Profit may become the driver while values take a back seat. I am unwilling to tell you what your core values must be. I am willing to help you clarify them. Any good coach or mentor should be willing to do the same. Taking time to decide, define and draft a core values statement is as important as a vision statement, a mission statement or an organizational chart. In fact it must come first. My personal and professional core values are the same: “Faith, family and freedom.” They are based on what I believe to be the most fundamental pillars of my life, a strong society and thriving economy. My Faith in Jesus informs my attitudes, actions and behavior. The who that I am is ever evolving (I hope improving) as my Faith in and understanding of the man of Jesus Christ grows. My family, both naturally assigned and committed in relationships is more important to my decision making than my income, my business, my comfort, my personal security and safety or even my loyalty to my nation. My freedom from fear, from destructive habits, from financial ruin, from tyranny in all forms and from unseen forces, drives decisions in every realm of my personal life and business. Freedom doesn’t start or stop with me. I stand for freedom for all people. Freedom from the same things I stand against. My willingness to stand for, speak for and fight for the freedom of others, myself, my family and my nation is constrained only by how my Biblical faith instructs me. Have you spent enough time thinking through what matters to you? 🗣️Become a Narrative Warrior: https://square.link/u/EjN7MBDLCONNECT WITH LOREN:🌍 Website: jlorennorris.com🔗 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jloren🐦 X (Twitter): https://x.com/jlorennorris#StoryPower #LeadershipCommunication #PublicSpeaking #JohnMaxwellTeam #ExecutiveCoachingCopyright Tell it Like It Is, Inc 2026
