Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob warning listeners that Indiana’s gas tax suspension is about to expire, which he says could push prices sharply higher at a time when gas may already be headed toward $4 or more. Rob argues property taxes and gas taxes are predatory because Hoosiers cannot realistically opt out of either, and he says Indiana’s $4 billion in reserves proves the state could keep the gas tax suspension in place if Governor Mike Braun and Republican lawmakers actually wanted to help taxpayers. He also ties the issue back to one-party rule, arguing that Republicans are choosing to protect government spending rather than call a special session to make gas more affordable. The show also covers the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, where Rob says Abdul El-Sayed’s narrow win over Haley Stevens shows the growing fight between establishment Democrats and the Bernie Sanders/AOC wing of the party. Rob says Stevens was the more electable general election candidate against Republican Mike Rogers, while El-Sayed’s victory gives Republicans a better opening in a state that usually tilts blue. He also points to more than 60,000 votes cast for Mallory McMorrow after she had dropped out as another example of how close races prove individual votes still matter.
