Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing Mike Braun’s latest appointment to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, naming Indianapolis City-County Councillor Josh Bain after Andy Zay was removed. Rob says Bain is a good person and a friend of the show, but argues the real problem is the system itself: the IURC is bound by laws and statutes written by the governor and General Assembly, meaning Braun cannot fix utility rates simply by swapping out commissioners. Rob also connects the issue to Braun’s gas tax executive order, saying Braun is again focusing on how he looks instead of pursuing a lawful, permanent fix through a special session and legislation. The show also turns to President Trump’s renewed effort to restrict birthright citizenship, including orders targeting birth tourism and expanding categories of people who would not qualify for automatic citizenship. Rob argues the 14th Amendment was designed to protect freed slaves after the Civil War, not to reward people who enter the country illegally or abuse visas to secure citizenship for their children. He says the fight reflects a larger need to regain control over immigration, stop fraud, and challenge courts that have expanded birthright citizenship far beyond its original purpose.
