In this series I wish to give 8 reasons why Linda and I have been able to serve God for 50 years. 1. God's mercy pursued us. • He loved us first. 1 John 4:10, 19; Ephesians 2:4 • He showed us mercy. Romans 9:15-16; Isaiah 54:7-8 • He came to us. John 1:9; Acts 9:3-6 • He put us in the ministry by His mercy. 1 Timothy 1:12-14; 2 Corinthians 4:1 2. God's mercy pardoned us. • He had pity on us. Psalm 103:10-13,17; Luke 19:10 • He made us heirs of God by His mercy. Titus 3:4-7 • He redeemed us by His mercy. 1 Peter 1:3; 18-19 • Note: Mercy = Grace = Salvation. Ephesians 2:8-10 3. God's mercy prepared us. • He put us in the right place = The church: Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 3:15 • He put us with the right people = the saints: Hebrews 10:23-25 • He put us under the right preaching = the word: Romans 10:17; Titus 2:1 4. God's mercy enabled us to persevere. • His mercy has been new every day for 50 years. Lamentations 3:20-24 • His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1 • His mercy has been there every time we sought it.
