from The Home Church Podcast · host The Home Church of Lodi

Lesson 3 – The Street Wise Method Text: Acts chapter two: Peter's Pentecost Sermon Intro: The street wise method is: "just tell it like it is"! That's what the Apostle Peter did on the day of Pentecost. He gave us some great soul winning principles. Note that in each of our eight lessons someone trusts Jesus as Savior. Lesson #1 = a city trusted Jesus as Savior; lesson #2 = Nicodemus trusted Jesus as Savior; today's lesson, #3 = 3,000 souls trust Jesus as Savior. Wow! 1. Peter began with the simple but most profound truth. Whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21 We could say Peter actually began with the sinner's prayer. Ref. Romans 10:13 Peter is quoting an Old Testament prophecy and promise. Acts 2:16 = God has made it so anyone can be saved. Hallelujah! A street wise soul winner will follow Peter's example. 2. Peter immediately shifted the focus on Jesus. Jesus was approved by God and proved He was God. Acts 2:22 A great way to witness to Hindus & Muslims. Ref. John 14:7-11 Peter preached it plain. Acts 2:23 = "wicked" men nailed Jesus to the cross!   3. Peter preached the glorious Gospel. The crucifixion and death of Jesus. Acts 2:23-24 The burial of Jesus. Acts 2:24 The resurrection of Jesus. Acts 2:31,32,34 This is the message that saves! Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 In view of plan preaching a decision must be made. Acts 2:36 = Jesus is Lord; Acts 2:37-38 = One must repent and do God's will. See 3:19 Conclusion: 3,000 souls responded to the Apostle Peter's message! Acts 2:41
