8: Diwali Memories and More - Reflections and Musings from An Empowered Group of Women

Send a textIn this special Diwali episode,  Vandana, Rita and Monica share their thoughts, opinions and experiences as immigrant Indian Americans with a special emphasis on celebrating Diwali. They recall how they celebrated Diwali before coming here and compare it with how they do it now, and each of them comes up with her own unique conclusion about her Indian American experience. They also answer questions about their immigrant experience vs that of those Indian Americans who grew up here, and ponder what values they grew up with. Monica came to Denver in 1993 for graduate studies. She now works as a product manager in the field of technology and life sciences, is a mom of two boys, and takes care of her parents who live close to her.
