#8 Felienne Hermans: The Programmer's Brain

from London Tech Insider Hosted by Neil Gibbons

Today I speak to Felienne Hermans. She’s an assistant professor at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Now, Felienne has no particular link to London, which is a bit of a problem, since this is the London Tech Insider podcast. However, her recent book is so interesting, I felt it was worth bending the rules and inviting her on the podcast anyway. The book is called the programmers brain and it was the main topic of our conversation. She summarises it nicely, by stating that it’s like a summary of cognitive science for software developers. This knowledge can be very helpful in knowing how to tackle problems and work most effectively as a programmer. If you’re interested in the book after listening, here is the link: https://www.manning.com/books/the-programmers-brain Also, here is the link to find out more about the code reading club: https://code-reading.org/
