real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good real good yes that's right ladies and gentlemen hello and welcome to real good show the preferred podcast of the hockey blogosphere as of this most recent week that's our most recent media shout out I suppose it is the sports podcast that is normally about sports but sometimes not so much Justin Morris with you once again and with me as always stuff and I'm gonna usually I just say my name and I'm saying that I usually just say my name so it's a bit different Okay, yeah change it up a bit and I'm John Cullen and yeah I mean pretty shitty intro this week I'd say Like you did fine nothing to do with you I just think that like in comparison to the things you've had to brag about the last few weeks being the preferred podcast of the hockey blog Oh sphere is probably the least worthy of any of those plus. How do you even get that? What do we even do to be the we just got some nice mentions from like Thomas Drantz and the undersea's lack numbers of the hockey blog? Yeah, oh hockey blog elite.
Okay, so two people said they liked our podcast and we are the preferred podcast of the entire The blog is fair is only two people. Yeah, it is Maybe like the field hockey blog is bigger than the ice hockey blog is here But we just don't know because we've never been around it Maybe it's not like you still in like scenes right now. Oh my god. I can't even imagine what a field hockey zine would look Because the only zines I've ever thought like I've ever seen are like feminist ones So I like to think of as like a feminist field hockey zine like a punk rock scene.
Oh, yeah, that'd be awesome Like Ian Macci just like randomly has Also has a field it just got super into field hockey I played field hockey in high school for like two months. Okay, it's good to private school. Yeah, yeah, okay I did not like because you can only handle the ball with one side of the stick like there's a flat side There's a curve side. It's a content.
You're always like twisting the stick around right and it's just I don't know you get you stick again You get it that Ha ha bingo bango And you also can't hit the ball of your feet so like if it's kind of within your feet You have to like you know jump around there. No distinct kick. It's like a pool ball as well. It's like really hard very hard Yeah, I always felt like I would be not I've never played it But I always felt like I would be bad at it because I've shot left like my whole hockey career Yeah, and field hockey you have to shoot right.
Yeah, really. Yeah, yeah, you're not allowed. No, you're not allowed What if you that's just how your hand is it doesn't matter you have to shoot right? I guess it's because like that's bullshit people shot left and some people shot right then to be harder to get the ball off people I guess is the idea.
Yeah, I think everyone just has the same stick. Yeah, I also shoot left So yeah, it's just no good apparently my version to feel talking throughout my life has been founded completely found it Yeah, see that and that was the thing for me. I was always just like I don't think I would I would want this also Because I wouldn't want to be made fun of by everyone else. I already curl like adding field hockey on top of that Yeah, that's never gonna be a good Sports do you play at bowling to complete the trifecta?
Oh, yeah, it's great though. Yeah, bowling's great to a point I feel like yeah, you can be like oh I went bowling this weekend That's like a bowling tournament. Yeah, I feel like being good at bowling is just like it's one of the shittiest sports to be good at because Like there's nothing even if you're good at it. No one's like impressed by it You know what I mean?
Like if I went bowling with someone like I regularly shoot maybe in between like 150 and 200 in bowling ish So like if we go and you shoot like 250 that's not really good. I mean to be like well, okay cool like you I think you get asshole almost you know what I mean? It's like we're sure to have fun You're showing everyone yeah like oh look who can curve the ball. Yeah pins what a fucking hero like calm down You know what I mean like it's just yeah I feel like it just is not really a sport that lends itself to being to being good at what's that amazing like Pete Weber Junior like melt down Yeah, because I was gonna say greatest sports clips of all time people You know who are really good at it are also like or at least in like the clips like circulate on YouTube anyway It's like very egotistical about bowling skills.
Yeah, you guys have seen that right the Pete Weber Oh, it's amazing. So he's like he's like he's this guy. He's very serious. He's so serious.
He wears sunglasses He's like this is the PBA professional. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, and Yeah, he's burned the rival WBA World Bowling Association to play It's a weird hockey experience joke and yeah, so he he's playing in the US Open and I have the clip right here Honestly, it's not our clip of the week, but we can hear it Yeah, so what it is is like he's being heckled by this guy in the crowd You know because of like that's what you do when he goes over yeah exactly you might as well heckle him So then he makes the shot and he just to win and he like loses his mind at the guy in the crowd And he's like whatever you think you are I am it's like amazing once again This is not the clip of the week, but here it is right now Pete Weber Jr. Bowling champion Strike to play That's just the best thing ever because I don't know who sits around thinking like oh man I think I'm a professional molar that also lives in a mobile home.
Yes Well, he made the shot too. Yeah, and then yeah, and then losses. Yeah, I just lost his mind And that was to win some I think it was the US Open which is like one of their biggest tournaments Yeah, like cuz the announcer said even said that this guy was like heckling him the whole time. They're like oh This is Pete seems very distracted The audience seems to be engaging with him and yeah, he was like you suck at jagass Yeah, it was exactly that and so yeah You can see clips before that of Pete Weber like he'll make a shot then sit in his chair and just stare at whoever it is I'm like and the announcer's can't even figure it out like that's the thing It wasn't like some guy just being like jagass or like everyone could hear it like it was apparently had to be pretty quiet Because the announcer's couldn't think about it like personal shit If you look over there you can see it appears Pete Weber Jr.
is engaged in some sort of blood feud with a member of the audience Well, and there's like 40 people watching so yeah But yeah, anyway easily one of my favorite sports moments like trash talking moments yeah, my favorite trash talking one all time is Steve Sullivan one where he's oh And the abs fan I guess he's like a puck to the face something and the there's an Abs fan ran the glass and he hits the glass and he's like laughing at Steve Sullivan and Steve Sullivan comes over and like screams And then goes off the ice and then a puck gets sent over the glass hits that same fan in the face And Steve Sullivan skates by and like points at the guy and like laughs at him It's wonderful The fact that that could happen like I mean I've been to countless NHL and junior games in my life and whatever And I think I've maybe seen someone get hit with a puck bad enough to draw blood like once twice maybe and especially at NHL Yeah, it's even harder than that Yeah, exactly so the fact that this guy got hit in the same game that he's making fun of see it was just that's where you go like Maybe karma's yeah, that is the video form of karma. Yeah, yeah Yeah, I've seen it look it up. It's so yeah Like I always like get mad when athletes are like oh, I just want to thank God for like controlling me and everything that I do and Like it's people are like oh, it's so selfless Tim Tebow so selfless like he never like takes credit for anything Yeah, no, he just thinks God is controlling him. That's kind of the most egotistical thing in the world So Steve Sullivan could have thanked God.
Yeah, like I tend to feel that there's no, you know room for God leave me Rose like that was on sports, but clearly when something like that happens like, you know, there's there's something going on there Yeah, yeah, that was perfect. It's one. It's one of the best sports clubs of all time Absolutely, but we got right into sports right off the hop. We seemingly never ever do that first Well, we're talking about that.
So we didn't quite get into sports off the top, but close enough Typically we like to tell each other how great we are in a segment. We like to call good for you And there's some good good for you this week because he's been promoting it on the podcast for quite a while It finally happened this past weekend John Colin headlining at yachty oxes first headlining sets ever in comedy Yeah, and it was we were there for a night show very funny. It was great stuff. Thank you guys It was actually really nice also to see like a couple things in your set that seemingly like started on the podcast and made their way into You felt like we had a bit of an influence.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I mean for sure I'll take inspiration wherever I can get it so if I have to steal jokes from you guys No, it was yeah, it was really fun. It was definitely a different feeling to be headlining I've done sets that long before but headlining in a comedy club is a different it's a different feel and but yeah It was really enjoyable. There were a lot of people there.
Yeah, it was busy Yeah, the Friday night was completely sold out the yachty X here holds about 160 So it's completely sold out on Friday and then both the Saturday shows were around 100 people so so it's pretty good pretty busy Sold some shirts you guys might have seen that on our Twitter accounts I superimpose my face on an old John Colin hockey card from the 1991 NHL all-star game Yeah, I mean people were simultaneously creeped out and loving it so I sold quite a few of those and yeah It was a good it was a really good time. So yeah, I'm looking forward to getting a chance to do it again It's just really nice to see you have like that kind of time also Yeah as the headliner to just be able to fuck around and like and like you would have a portion for about a minute and a half Or you just remained completely silent trying to see like how many laughs you could bring out of not doing anything at all of you Yeah, well it was funny because you can't do that if you're not that exactly I've never done that before but yeah That was definitely something that came about being a headliner because there was this one girl who just kept laughing when I wasn't even Saying anything and so I was like well as long as someone's laughing I'm theoretically doing my job. So I'm just gonna see how long I can make this last So my middle act was was like a very funny comedian Alex Sparling He was saying like after that show and I had done something sort of similar on Friday where like I just Yeah, I think I kept saying yeah like a bunch of times and it was for like these like I timed it was like a minute and 30 seconds And he's like I hate you so much just like being able to just yeah, this is whatever But I mean rest assured people listening this podcast I do have actual jokes as well as not just me standing on stage going yeah for 45 minutes But yeah, I know it was really fun and it was cool that you guys are able to make it out And I think you guys saw the best show of the weekend. So it was a good time.
It was sweet So yeah good for me. Yeah good for you. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
I'm good for you. You graduated from film school I did and now I have no one in the podcast. That's what all I have going for. Yeah, thanks.
I think I've got a couple irons and fire so to speak I think that's like an industry thing. I think that's the exact term. Yeah, but blacksmith industry Yeah, I am a black man apply heat No, it's great. We rented out a bar and got super wasted and yeah, and then like the diploma in school and everything That was good too.
Well, but here's the thing I feel like you are obviously a talented writer and whatever like you said You already have some irons in the fire I feel like though and I tried to get you to shit on your classmates before I am going to do it again because do you feel like renting out A bar and getting blackout drunk for some people they got so drunk because they're like well This might be the last time I could consider myself in the film industry. I mean I'll be diplomatic There's a lot of people in the class and they're all great people. They're all talented. I didn't ask whether they were good people I'm getting to Yeah, I mean I think do I think everyone's gonna have a career in writing I mean not necessarily but they'll use the degree and the stuff they learned regardless.
Oh, okay Yeah, so to like write brochures for hotels and stuff. Yeah, I guess it's a cool writing I mean, I do I do love all my classmates. I know some of you do listen to this Do you do you take a class for that like just like a backup class just being like well if the movie thing fails You could get into writing there. They're like they're various electives So there's there's writing for video games is writing for advertisements Oh, okay, so you can kind of so some people get a year in and then they go okay.
Yeah, I'm probably not cut out for Yeah, I know we've had a lot of graduate program. We're working in advertising now, right? Okay marketing. That's right.
Yeah I mean it was it's very it's useful either way and there's also one graduate I can think of who's working in a very large pair of jorts and that would be cool. That's true Well, he didn't graduate Yeah, I'm calling out the window Kevin was so roomy. I think that's where he yeah I think I like to think of yes, he wrote that infamous tweet and he just held on to it for 20 years And if you're listening to this you know what the tweet is I don't want to clarify I'm going to miss my mom's probably listen this and she probably doesn't know what the tweet is so let me just Lift this up quickly. It's painful It's the worst tweet ever written but it's good to know that you went through the same writing program as the writer of this tweet Did so here it is he's talking about I guess it's the tenure anniversary with his wife I'm not only reading it you've dedicated the reading of it to my mother This is Kevin Smith and this is on his tenure wedding anniversary and he's talking about his wife and his sex life with His healthy okay here we go 10 10 years in and we bone like we're cheating on each other with each other I'm halfway through this it gets a lot worse a decade plus and Her quit slash Brown slash taint area still pwns my dick and mom pwns is it's not like a gaming term It like owns or like kind of destroyed it's I mean anyway, and I don't know what the brown part I have a pretty good idea.
I do though But I know a few years later he replied to it and he says five years ago today I lost a bet to my wife the prize was a post the worst tweet she could muster on my Twitter So he's trying to save face that is bullshit by saying that his wife his wife wrote that tweet and made him tweet it There's no way no way Kevin Smith wrote that for sure. Yeah, anyway, I'm really upset that I had Ridicule that I shouldn't have brought that up years. I've actually somehow never seen that tweet before It's all right. I'm gonna reach me right now.
I'm reaching out. Yeah, I might as well right bring it back to life In 2009 yeah, well, I don't think any woman refers to that area as their brown taste area. Yeah, no I don't think yeah, there's no chance a woman wrote that Anyway Yeah, it's true. I mean the all the pictures of him in the jorks don't want to move you from here Where he's wearing like an Euler's jersey and then like the biggest pair of shorts.
I've ever seen Is the worst because not even Euler's jersey. It's the color of the sex similarly of it that has like his own logo on the crest Which is like oh, yeah, you're like so into hockey and these teams that you're honoring them by slapping your own shitty logo I do he is super in hockey though. I do like that. Yeah, that's kind of a badass move Like it's like the it is like the putting your own name on the back of the jersey, but for rich people Yeah, exactly like because I could buy the team and change the logo if I really want to run that rich Yeah, why not right?
I like it. I personally think it's the kind of reasons why not so I just retweeted the tweet and I already have a reply Really wish I could go a week without seeing this retweeted nice. Sorry about that Apologies it was for podcast purposes. Yeah, you graduated and now you're you're out in the big scary world.
That's terrifying I don't like I said I do have I've got some projects. I'm working on and then we'll see I'm I wrote that script with Rob Wiseman, which is very funny. Yeah, short pilot. Yeah, so we'll see what happens there So there's some people looking at that so, you know, it's like a waiting game at this point.
You might not be long for this podcast Well, I mean, it's a pretty good city. It's a pretty good. It's a pretty good. So yeah Well, see that way that should be our new breakout breakdown is how many episodes will Stefan laughs You can talk about your secret projects That's it.
That's kind of one of the cool parts about working in film is that you get to hat you get to say that and people just respect it Like I was like oh like you only believe what I'm doing with my English 10 class and then people are like what? I'm like, that's a secret. I can't actually say it like But I can also I can lie about it too. That's true.
Yeah, exactly. You just randomly start walking around with a briefcase Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly So yeah, I can't get away with that people there's no secrets in my life people just like okay Well, you can either tell me or I never want to get like that's those are off No one's gonna legitimately be like, oh, please tell me right now and Justin. Yes good for you You won the costume contest at the wrestling trivia.
I did what you missed son of a bitch But did you also win trivia? No, we didn't even come close to the pricing. I thought our team did really well Very well considered. Yeah, but like there was a team there of ECCW wrestlers who got one question wrong Which fair enough when you voted your life to that thing?
I think it was out of like 96 in the end Oh, was it okay? I got like 95. I have no idea. That's pretty fun There was another thing that got a perfect score also and there was only three of them on what was the prize again?
I was just sick as it goes to like a live screen enough. Oh, I like a one of players or whatever And I won a John Cena the champ is here t-shirt. There you go. Give to my girlfriend and she wore it while we watch summer Yesterday.
Yes, she watched all four hours of summer It's four hours Makes me feel good about my initial prediction of episode nine being when you would break up given this is episode eight You've now forced her to watch wrestling. I feel like this week is deadline day But here's where you're wrong John because the first thing she said when she woke up this morning was Can we watch raw tonight? No, she didn't say that. Don't know what happens.
That's true. That's a true story I don't know if I could you do her. I have no idea I couldn't believe that she watched all three hours like even my buddies Three or four four four four four hours for even my like bros who came over to watch like we're just moving in and out doing other things for most of the show And she watched the whole thing so yeah break up right now things are going well on that front one the costume contest is very Wyatt and it was a fun night overall got to see some friends of the show the stanchion and J-Bo were there also and Yeah, good times all around I didn't you know, I don't really have anything monumental to celebrate like you two gentlemen But I did have a right you know I have a job interview on Friday Oh, yeah, here we go where I interviewed for a position with one of the few radio stations in the city that I actually enjoy I'm not gonna explicitly name the JFM the country absolutely and News is seven Like a portrait using we got the like low rent the final portion of the interview where they're like do you have any questions for us And I've been like very paranoid about the podcast like ruining my career prospects essentially That's a great interview question though, because you should just be like can I have the job? Yeah, that's a great question.
Yeah, I should do that next time I'll think of that but so can I have the job right now? No like right now like I went out for drinks with one of my buddies from BCIT a few weeks ago Who was like I love the show, but you're like murdering your career like you'll never be able to work a serious job And we're gonna get effort again, which is fine. I don't really want to work in news anyways But I had this interview and they're like to do any questions for us like yeah, I have this like podcast that I do like on the side like I'd still I'd still be able to do that right like there wouldn't that wouldn't be a problem and they were like I mean yeah, that shouldn't be a problem. I don't see why that would be a problem Why like what's your podcast about and I was like well?
It's like sort of a sports show But mostly we just make dick jokes and tell people to flip off fresh slice and they're like I don't work with fresh slice Anyway, that's fine and dick jokes as long as you're not saying that the station endorses your dick jokes then I think it's They do it out for the record they do I know the station doesn't I want to say it's so bad I want to make a dick joke and say it's specifically endorsed by the station I was like, you know, I'll give up making dick jokes to get this job if I have to but as it pertains to dick jokes I kind of like to keep making the dick jokes I actually think it would be great if you had to cut them out But like you still wanted to do the podcast so anytime there was like a dick joke you wanted to make you just had like Right on a piece of paper and slide It's just like step in and I are the only ones who can say them as we were wrapping up the interview though and this I think I got the job based on this she was like I have to tell you I love the number of times the phrase dick jokes was used over The course of this interview that's honestly never happened before so I think I got it. That's a good sign I guess we'll see that'll be an update for the next episode. Yeah, the proof will be put in good for you Good for you. That was a very good good for you.
It really was very I don't it was very very stacked Now we'll go back to one of our favorite regular segments as well We have anything to say for the Taffer tracker we sort of do I mean it's a lot of it's a Twitter friend to Twitter friends of mine Matt I don't pronounce it last name. I think it's just Chris man It might be Christ man, which is sounds like a Christian superhero at coach bomb and then Brian at murder Brian They went to the defending the American Dream Summit They bought tickets which is the thing that Taffer was given to me Yeah, we're like tech players with speaking. Yeah, so they went to see him speak well Yeah, well not speak and the pictures. There's a storeify and I can tweet it out or the show Well, it'll be on the do we do show blogs or I want to start I keep meaning to do it and then like I've just been sick or I've gone to Hornby Island or like that sort of thing Yeah, I'll do it.
I'll do it. I'll do it. I can tweet it out as well. Anyway, there's a storeify and it's all their tweets from the show And there's some really great stuff.
Apparently John Taffer was introduced using a Martin Luther King Jr. Quote. Yeah, I was one but and just weird Do you feel like Taffer would hate Martin Luther King or just like not hate him but does not be like well It's kind of funny that they're quoting MLK at this But the quote on by the Koch brothers we just love MLK so much the pictures of him like he is just screaming at the audience Like he's just going and he's kind of just articulating wildly. You can just tell from the picture I guess he does he take his oh, he's not wearing a tie I thought he took his tie off at one point and loosen it, but he's looking wonderful obviously is John Taffer's a big man and Yeah, he's just yelling about small business essentially.
There's no video unfortunately I'll try and find one but like I said, I'll tweet out the storeify and just check it out There's some really really funny stuff in there and when they picked up their name tags The man handing them out was named Derel Toodle We did get a message this week to from a friend of the show Matt Torino Well, I guess he's a friend he was a friend. Why not Matt Torino said that he was gonna be our man on the ground in Columbus Yeah, and he might not be a friend of the show Yeah, because he came up on the 21st and said my plane to Columbus got delayed and I couldn't make it to Taffer's keynote But he also says what we would have said and that's John Taffer would not accept any excuses those excuses are bull Matt You could have made it if you wanted to be there. Yeah, exactly I mean you if you're gonna if you really want a future as our ground reporter our man on the course But I already had someone on the ground actually I'm axis. Yeah, so far you're losing The climax guy Losing to the dead gardens Me personally I said this chart that is the Taffer track I signed up for the Taffer newsletter as well He hasn't sent it out I retweeted a tweet from his wife yesterday on the show's Twitter feed at real good show.
What's her name? Nicole I think the cold after a time and it was a photo of him like at the podium yelling in the hashtag was scream like Taffer That's what she used to promote her own husband Which I have an update for the Taffer tracker after you talked about it so much last week as soon as I was done editing last week's show I watched the Pirates episode of bar rescue and in fact I watched that episode probably three times in the span of two days So I was you know Kind of surprised to see that the caricature that I drawn of him in my head was pretty close to what he actually is except Yeah, a lot of screaming a lot more like really aggressive yelling than I was expecting isn't aggressive man Yeah, he's terrifying. Yeah, and it's just like a lot of yelling about trying to make people feel ashamed of them Yeah, he's kind of like if Gordon Ramsey fucked Andrew Dies clay Well, like here's the thing is after I watched the Pirates episode of bar rescue. I also watched the Amy's baking company Yeah, it's just the equivalent of kitchen nightmares That's like Gordon Ramsey's equivalent episode in terms of the people being an absolute train wreck who called him in to validate their madness Instead of getting actual help essentially but you know Gordon Ramsey when he's like really mean to people There's still something kind of like light and playful.
Yeah, and I think that might just be that he has an English accent Well, have you watched the British version of kitchen nightmares? So much nicer on it really is like he gets angry, but there's not as much disdain It's because you know is that like that's what's gonna sell for an American. Yeah, they want to see yeah I can't part these losers. Yeah, it's more like pokey and sarcastic when he's being mean whereas like Taffer is just like furiously screaming at everyone Well, and what I think is just really I think Taffer himself has really missed the boat on a great business Like he's always talking about people missing out on these great business opportunities I don't know how there isn't a product called Taffer's Taffy out there right?
I mean, how does that not exist salt water Taffy? Yeah, exactly salt water Taffer exactly my favorite part of the show though definitely is the way like they treat him like he's a super Spy kind of like whenever like that's why this bar turned to world-renowned bar scientist John Taffer And he like walks in like removing sunglasses and he's got like his stats He's like spinning in there's a computer-generated model of him spinning like the X-Men Yeah, so that's his intro and then whenever like oh the bar is failing like we're having a big problem mixing drinks It suddenly turns into like the restaurant version of like the born ultimatum where Taffer is like we need to activate our top bar Asset on the eastern sea boy. Yeah, like flare bartenders Throw the cocktails around or whatever like a message on their phone The cocktails better when there's some fucking asshole within the cocktail thing Yeah, that's why they do it's all proven our ass is exact our asset is unroot to the bar John We'll have a touchdown in T-minus seven minutes. Just fucking great, but John you still watch the show No, I think yeah I think because I was thinking about it You know with once Justin started getting into the show and I thought it might be good to have one remaining to center And not that I'm really like I have nothing against John Taffer I guess or like I do just based on what you guys say I don't know I have no reason not to watch the show is what I'm saying other than I just think it might be funny if I just never Watch it.
Well, you're all the best parts from us exactly. I just construct this idea of this guy in my head without actually just Anger than you think. Yeah, that's my main piece of okay image tweaking mental image sounds good All right, and I do you know Stephanie was at the comedy show on Saturday night with the lady bradle special lady friend out for the night And I loved I was talking about bar rescue and she was like what you're getting other people to watch bar rescue I thought it was just me No, I show bar rescue to everybody that I can basically my parents. I'm watched it yet because they love kitchen nightmares It's like trashy kitchen nightmares.
Yeah. Well, we were saying the other day like the spike TV lineup It's just like reality shows of all of the jobs that people have who watch spike TV Yeah, there's the tattoo artist one is the bet and I can't believe it's real Dave Navarro hosting a tattoo competition Like it's great. Yeah, we're a good Master and then there's Adam Corolla is like trying to track down like bad contractors That's a show on spike the absolute best one and I cannot believe this is real I'll just read this reaction it's called framework and I'll just read the screen in pictures It's a painting What everyone's into that watch a site great. Let's see hosted by hip-hop superstar Where is it hosted by hip-hop superstar common?
Hey, work is a new competition series exploring the compelling world of furniture design and construction. Oh my god Why is common hosting this? Couches Yeah, anyway that like that spike TV each new reality show they come out with it feels just like a parody of Reality shows especially with yeah hosted by call they've got the they had this one where it's amateur like sports coaches with like anger issues They like melt down all the time and have like had like been kick out their league or whatever and they all live in this house together And they're learning to kind of calm themselves down and become I always have to live in a house Yeah, that's like the big reality. Let's just put him in a house.
It's hosted by Ray Lewis. Oh, God Yeah, so I mean I don't know if we can say you know Allegedly allegedly some murder involved. Yeah, I mean even if allegedly is tied to murder your name It's probably not great. No one's like John Cullen allegedly murdered someone like that So you can't even allege that again So if it's if people can even guess you might have murdered someone that's probably not great But you did allegedly kill during all three of your sets this Not a lot of I'd say we were there but yeah, I see a showbiz term.
Yeah, oh, okay, yeah It's like a hunger game One person has to die but the the Ray Lewis alleged shit thing of murder. Whatever. It's really just into the clip of the week Yeah, yeah, it's great as you know stupid football players The big thing with Ray Lewis is that he didn't have anybody around to take the heat instead of him. I guess that was his big Well, someone else Somebody else went to jail.
Yeah coming from his gun somebody else burned those clothes Anyways, yes, it is time for the real good show clip of the week and this week. Oh boy Do we have a doozy in fact we might just have to rename the clip of the week? What did Chris Carter say this time? This is an old clip somebody just discovered it was on the NFL website for like a year Yeah, it was from last year in the 2014 rookies symposium.
Yeah, and nobody watched that obviously because why discovered like to yeah, yeah Somebody was finally maybe it was like the fact that you know Chris Carter's comments about yeah, someone was like cheese I'm in the mood to watch a symposium NFL symposium And we will hear right now Chris Carter and Warren Zapp are instructing rookies on how to adapt to the NFL lifestyle and my God The things you are about to hear That's real business now. So anytime you see one of them blogs come up Alan Anderson driving 93 miles an hour at 2 a.m. In the morning with a gun underneath the seat three out of five I'm sure well just check it if you don't think I know what I'm talking about check it for me But y'all internet babies now, I don't google where you ask question warning Chris is what you get answers It's Warren's and just in case y'all not going to decide to do the right thing. Here's Chris Carter If y'all got a crew you got to have a fall guy Daddy come here man.
Teddy come here Seems like he's kind of joking now if they gonna keep rolling on Teddy's bank row because each one of y'all in business for yourself This right here is Teddy bridge water Inc incorporate that's him now every dime that come into Teddy. All right, it's gonna be earned by him in his body All right, now I let my home boys know y'all want to keep rolling like this Then I need to know who gonna be the fall guy who gonna be driving Because y'all not gonna all do the right stuff now All right So I got to teach y'all how to get around all this stuff too if you're gonna have a crew one of them Who's got to know he going to jail we'll get him out Now you're for Miami now, okay, y'all take care of each other now Don't you got a guy that would take care of you and that would be out a good deal. Okay good on to that There we go Chris Carter and Warren sappin I felt like he's to get a fall guy and honestly this is not that much different than like his what he was saying about the whole Geno Smith and impoliving like he's like, you know, you mean that it's like incredibly stupid Well that too, but like his main message for Geno Smith is like, you know, we got other guys for this like you ain't got to be doing that We got guys that will punch him for you. Essentially.
I mean, I'd like that he just comes right on set it Like he doesn't know the Bush at all. Yeah, he says you need one of your friends gonna go to prison. Yeah, well I'm a prison friend. I'm wondering if he knows that he's even being filmed well I have to know which is the best part.
Yeah, and he was just like no one's gonna fucking watch the NFL rookie Supposed, you know, I think he even thought that at all I just think he did give a shit or no or whatever because the Geno Smith thing again like we were talking about last time was a radio call-in Program it was not great. Oh, it was TV Okay, yeah, so he's specifically calling in and like and it seemed like he was not aware of like how that works Yeah, how that works or that it was being taped and yeah, I mean, I think it's incredible There's just so much good about this clip. I love that he brings Teddy Bridgewater on stage And Teddy he looks like he's having worst time mortify. Yeah, my favorite line is Warren's app though.
Yeah, Google You go to Google for questions come to Warren Chris for answers My favorite part I think was the three-second delay where he was trying to figure out what to call Teddy bridge Inc and then immediately Warren's apps like incorporate Like incorporate just in case any of the people in the crowd didn't know what that meant and Warren's app was just recently Charged with three counts of domestic violence to you I mean like that makes it that much worse that he's up on stage. Yeah, I mean Yeah, you can have if you're the NFL and you could have any two guys to talk about the rookie Like activities or whatever instead of you know any nice nice men that are well known for having the best reputation ever You go with guys that have been to jail and it's just the best part is that at the end of a put it up on their website Yeah, that's you that someone screamed it was like yeah This is cool. Not only do we pay them to come here and tell all of our rookies how to get away with crimes But we're also gonna give it out there to the fans too because why not well it to be fair like they're being honest He's not gonna be like, you know what guys you got to behave yourselves. You're rich young professional athletes You're super famous.
Yeah, everyone wants a PC you like just you know like fine He's like yeah, you're gonna fuck up and you need a friend that is gonna go prison for you Well, I like that he says that's a good deal like your friends getting a bunch of your money Yeah, realistically him going to prison pretty good. Yeah, somebody in the entourage needs to go to jail Pertle is going to be Yeah, exactly. Well turtle is the driver. So it's also not just saying that you need a fog guy You also need a wheel man.
Yeah, he's essentially putting together like a high screw Now listen, I know a really good mask supplier You don't need a mask guy if you get into the end of it You don't want no one seeing that face when you commit your crimes. I know a mask guy Receivers are the best thieves got them fast hands were real good Listen I was a Hall of Fame wide receiver. I can't tell you the number of necklaces. I stole it That's my best stat.
I think it's touchdowns. You think it's yards gained. It ain't it's number of diamonds stolen I can't wait for his apology. Yes.
I apologize. I don't think well I'm gonna be super toned out. He like recanted his comments about you know, Smith. Yeah, but he I don't believe he shouldn't apologize for that either But I just want to go to the NFL website and search for Chris Carter videos because it's probably hidden goal He's or they're like Hulk Hogan in him right there's deleting everything Yeah, I love it.
It's awesome Yeah, great another great clip of the week. Thanks Chris The official sports cast We'll do a quick follow-up on last week's clip of the week Yeah, he's a curious He's got himself in some hot water last week and that apparently boiled over Yeah, he's been fine and suspended although apparently he's going to be allowed to play in the US open potentially And it's for the on court comments. Yes, pretty like the shopping altercation on court. Yeah, that's it's abuse bro Yeah, I know yeah, apparently abuse bro is not in the tennis code of ethics Don't get suspended that often.
I don't I can't honestly aside from like drugs. Yeah, and even then I can't think of it Like John McEnroe gets suspended for like screaming it. I don't know well He did call one of the umpires a pinko. Maybe you got this for that.
I don't know it was a different time Yeah, I don't know. It's just very strange to be the bad boy Yeah, he's the key of the P. Weber junior if you think you think you are I am That's what I like about Kyrios is like it doesn't take that much to be the bad boy of tennis But he's still like going above and beyond. Oh, yeah, really answering the Yeah, a few before that's why he's the official tennis player of real good.
Yeah, we're not talking about anybody else He's an idiot. Yeah, exactly So are we we certainly are and I don't know we there's some like sports stories that kick transfer for this the summer time We're not that much going on the dog. Yeah, we didn't there were a few things that we can talk about last week The connection bring back the black skate jersey for one game. It is the black one.
Yeah, I don't care I don't know the Leafs 94 Jersey. I mean how different is different I think the Leafs are good. They'll probably swear their same. Yeah, the 94 Jersey's were the same Yeah, now it's the only thing different was the shoulder patch and of course the J's lost some games last Week, which is why we didn't talk about yeah, I'm all I was off the bandwagon But then I'm not the first to win I'm just destroyed the angels this weekend so we're back on board with that the sweet thing about being a bandwagon fan that was like The team can just lose and I'm like, oh, yeah, all right.
I don't care about the man I was go about my day like I was going to anyways. Totally fine. It's wonderful. Yeah, I guess you don't have to lay face Well in that case boys, I think it's time for the return the triumphant return of John Kellens Guys, thank you so much.
Welcome back to the roller dome. Here's your main man JC John Cullen just bringing the heat So I found a as you guys know if you've been listening to past episodes of being real heavy into artistic roller skating Which is basically like figure skating but on on traditional roller skates so two wheels in the front two wheels in the back and mostly done in high school gyms and So I just started youtubing it and it turns out there is an actual like pretty good following for artistic roller skating on YouTube So I stumbled across this one video It is from the 2013 artistic roller skating national championships is in the US a young lady by the name of Courtney Kennedy Is showing off her free skate and the YouTube comments I mean people a lot of people talk about you know how YouTube commenters are like the worst people in the world and and you know And they point to like rap videos and stuff like that and people will say like racist and homophobic things And I have to admit I didn't feel like that would extend to artistic roller skating But it has because there is a clear divide I guess between people who grew up artistic roller skating in like the 70s and roller skates now Because there are some people who are very pissed so this is on a Courtney Ken This is a junior nationals video so keep in mind I believe Courtney Kennedy was in her early teens in this video and here comes a comment scorching hot take from Reagan 131313 I'm for the glory days of America and also roller. I just want to show this isn't my adjustments accounts though Yeah, I did not leave it. No, okay, so it's not three ninjas here we go Reagan 131313 says seriously This is a national program.
Do you have any arm movements? This is a long cry from skating in the 80s and 90s pathetic What would Reagan's and then Courtney replies? So are you skating isn't like it was before and I still have stuff to work on but stop living in the past and your negative comments only make you look pathetic So Courtney non-break to stick up for herself, which I do for you very confident teenager What's your last name again? Courtney Kennedy versus Reagan.
Yeah It is it is great and then here we have obvious roller skating expert Edmund Gesswine Comments good choice of music. However, the shoulder positions kind of distracted from the choreography Having the shoulders down and back would make a huge difference in the presentation Also, the double axle started with the arms high and the trunk of the body pulled down Which negatively affected both lift and rotation on a difficult jump like that And you need everything you can to get up and rotate great advice here from Edmund exactly what I was thinking When I watched the video as well, so good to know that I'm on the same page Just Courtney have a biting retort to that one also. No, she didn't but she did have a great There's a great exchange here started by Hattie M So you can imagine an old school roller skater thing Hattie She says I always loved roller skating and find it sad it has never been accepted into the summer Olympics Many roller skaters and bladers had to switch to the ice for speed skating to which that's just Lee responds No one cares about roller skaters. They suck and it's barely a sport copied from figure skating.
No wonder it's not in the Olympics Why was he watching that video? I have no idea. This is a girl. That's just Lee is a girl and then Samuel Kirby responds 14-year-old white girl opinions don't matter And then Courtney responds at that's just Lee.
Did you know that roller skating came before ice skating? So ice technically copied us So why don't you brush up on your facts and maybe put on roller skates and try it and then court a book much Oh, and then Hattie now loops back and comes in at the very end of the conversation and is getting mad at Courtney Even though Courtney's on her side because she thinks she should be nicer to people who are trying to watch roller skating And she says well duh as if to say everyone knows roller skating came first and she said I why don't you give us a little history of a dying sport instead of being so snippy and rude? So shit is heating up on this video. I feel like this is exactly how you give like the drama updates for like, you know, schoolyard gossip in the bathroom Okay, here's what Abby said You can't it's ridiculous.
Okay, because she was with Michael and now Michael said that yeah, it's basically exactly It's basically exactly that so we will we'll leave it on that Oh, and we've got one more nice comment rounded off from Dennis Michael who also appears to be an old fan And he says that he doesn't understand why the axle jumps are starting late He feels like they're starting late now and he's saying when did all the cheating on jumps start? I'm a skater and judge from the 60s and 70s and cheating was not as prevalent then coaches need to stop the cheating and judges Not accept it or the quality of skating will remain substandard very sad So it's just heavy shit. This video has 51,500 views Most of them are all just returned visits from people who are part of that comment But yeah, I was just I have to say was very taken aback by how aggressive the YouTube comments got even for artistic roller skating So this one goes out to you Courtney Kennedy if you're listening to the show and I know you are just don't take it to heart You know keep it up girl I know you're you're trying hard and it looks good So so that's it for the roller report this weekend really hoping to get something going with Kayla Macri And hopefully she can be maybe our first guest socially Courtney Kennedy will see you at the Olympics someday And with that we'll close the door on the roller board and open up everyone's favorite. It's the Twitter mailbags And what do we got it's letter time?
We got some pretty solid ones this week. My favorite one is Let me just look this out. I wasn't entirely ready for this. All right.
That's fine Yeah, he was so enthralled with the roller report. He was literally staring at me with his mouth slightly agate like a woman in heat This is from at Steve. There's four tees and Steve Steve and he says which sport would you rather watch played on ice basketball baseball football or soccer? That's a very good question.
It's a great question. I just I don't see how the answer is not baseball Yeah, it has to be baseball, right? I mean, can you imagine guys even trying to swing a bat if it's baseball? It's like that magic school bus episode I go inside the book and this frizzle gets rid of all the friction and they're sliding around trying to play baseball Yeah, be beautiful I think I'm basketball pretty fun too basketball would be good if only to watch like all the big guys fall huge and especially like And you hate to stereotype but like realistically most of these basketball players never been on ice before I'm pretty sure that at least seven people would break their legs Yeah, because even if you were able to jump up for like a slam dunk landing would be impossible I guess you didn't like not breaking your own leg when you come down to the landing not like landing on something So it would depend if they were on skates or not Yeah, they're in skates that be worse because then you have these skates like super high up in the air and everyone's jumping for the ball Yeah, actually I have crampons at least yeah Yeah, I'm going with baseball for sure Yeah, because I want to see somebody just slide because you'd slide from third all the way into home You'd swing the bat and you'd just spin around in circles, right?
Yeah, exactly like that like goofy like try like the goofy shorts back in the day the cartoons or need like swing the bat Yeah, yeah, yeah, like I'm twist basically be like that which So pitching on ice would be real tough too. I think like you have no moment like I don't think you could have a wind up Holding onto one of those like the ice walker things. Yeah. Oh man There's only this is a great question because I'm just loving imagining everything football kind of has been played on ice almost like you see the snow games And stuff yeah, I just feel like there's too many stoppages in football for to be like that entertaining Yeah, I don't think it would I don't think it would really have a huge impact In football, but yeah basketball would be hilarious We'd be like a running back to just like break free of the line and then just yeah Yeah, they're in the field that would be pretty sweet that would be awesome.
Well, yeah, that's what they're wearing states, I guess Yeah, I don't know that's one of my all-time favorite questions Yeah, I'd say that was that was that was also in baseball with the walls be frozen because then I feel like that would add another Like you would really not want to run into the wall like you don't want to anyway, but you go faster And yeah, it's could be like icicle spikes on it. Oh man. That just sounds like a Mario Kart I got one here from Lee at bomb track who asks I have no favorite teams in any league I live in a state with none. Can I just keep enjoying games and partially or is that weak?
No, I mean, it's rare I think because if you if you want to be I guess he's I like that better than there's always the front runners who live in you know Wherever like the coda or like North Dakota Wyoming and they're like, oh, I love Duke and the Lakers and the Cowboys red wings Yankees Yeah, exactly. There are fans like they're the worst people in the world the Patriots This is like the good version of that where he can just enjoy sports. Yeah, like I almost prefer that too I would for that well, I don't understand how like emotionally cold you'd have to be to not get like any sort of emotional Attachment or investment in any but you know, he probably has like local like minor league teams or college teams or something that he puts all his emotion Into they get his full dedicated talking about pro leagues. Yeah, so yeah I think to like for me.
I feel that way about football like I legitimately do not have a football team and so I just got heavy into fantasy football So people always say like oh John what's your favorite football team and I'll be like my fantasy football team That's my favorite team and it's probably really good if you're that impartial because you're not like I make stupid picks in Drafts every year absolutely. I just have to have to know a gallon Ariana basketball team. He has to be on there Just like have my core guys that I want to win with every year like my stars will rotate But my like bench the pork will stay the same because I want to stay loyal to my crew and win a championship with them It's really stupid. It's the worst really dumb.
It's emotionally invested in repeat members of a fantasy team Nevermind an actual real live sports team. So yeah, Lee. I think you're good Yeah, I think it's weak But I will say that the only thing is that you it's like it's like you deprived yourself of the pain But then you also deprived yourself of like the potential happiness But given that the three of us have all been alive for a combined like 70 years 70 years and none of us have experienced sports happiness. I had the Seahawks winning That was really nice, but and then I guess the VC lines.
Yeah, that's I mean, I feel like the CFL is pretty much just like a lot of yeah Who's the longest CFL drought right now? I think it is the blue bomber. I'm gonna look this up. I think that would be amazing Just if there's oh it's the bars at 24 years Fucking awful holy shit, you know, what's you know, it's worse than that record just the city of Winnipeg That's the thing that's the only thing that's worse than an actual record is just the city itself I've never seen so much sand in a city It's like they should just it's like the desert because they just sand the roads every day and then when the snow goes away Just sand it's like a Mario Kart desert course It was gonna be my one good thing I Want to go to like the Winnipeg comedy fest and I think that would be an absolute blast and stuff like that And there are some like good restaurants and things like that I'm saying like as a general place to go.
I would just say like obviously yeah, if you have friends there You're doing something cool and fine Regina is a beautiful town that has nothing going on in it Yeah, and Winnipeg is an eyesore that is like pretty fun and have yeah, like it's a fun Yeah, good culture and shit, but it's just like but like also just a piece of shit Yeah pretty much anything else definitely a bag wise I mean, we got I don't know we didn't get that many questions Let's go with one more this week. Let's go with boy. Let me boy. Oh wrestling trivia for at early 90s pants You want to know do you guys want a fresh slice frisbee and he attached a photo of it He owns a fresh life Frisbee.
Yeah, I think it'll be good like to have a contest we could give it Well, actually, you know, it'd be great is if we could throw it through the window of a fresh slice I mean, I don't think it'd go through the window, but it'd be kind of ironic. We could like burn it as well Yeah, I could be like certain video like like burning it throwing into the ocean. Yeah, yeah, we'll take it I just think if we like try to encourage people to do something maybe our contest should be what we should do with the Frisbee So like we'll get the Frisbee from Blimpy boy And then people can write in telling us what they want us to do with the Frisbee will pick our favorite one and then I just think it would be like Hilarious if one of our listeners in like Sweden or Finland or North Carolina Really badly wanted a fresh life Frisbee. So that's you and you do want it and let us know and we'll put that together I suppose otherwise we'll wreck it.
Yeah, we'll just burn it This one's not bad actually from at I can't pronounce that what's the saddest televised sport the saddest televised I think for me, it's it's darts just based on like the cuz I don't know if you've watched like the premier league Yeah, it's called John Darth Maple part a ton of fans and people are getting like rowdy and like dressed up wearing Gossing I'm sure be kind of fun to get super wasted and go to that But there's the guy with like these weird dreadlock like ponytails that he dies like green and he likes spikes Yeah, I mean 50 years old that we call them artists artists Yeah, it's the weirdest thing in the world and I think it makes like a shit ton of money But I know they all do man in terms of like status tell by sport I don't know if he means Is it the saddest thing to watch because it would be dark? I've tried watching darts on TV and it's like a boss Me like the saddest thing to watch is car racing for me. I can't really oh god It's so boring. I mean formula one is okay, but like God NASCAR is NASCAR is turning left and yeah, it's the worst It's horrendous going to the races live is a lot of fun.
Never been Right, yeah, I'm sure that's decent to you, but I just can't oh we go with poker Which is not a sport no technically though just televised on sports channels all the time It's just really sad I didn't used to like it, but I kind of do now actually like there's occasionally I'll get like some guys with some personality some real flair to the way they play there a televised poker But like mostly it's like you know the people that you would see like and like a Divorce lawyers office People sad to watch it I don't know like I watched like the European poker tour recently so it's like oh young guys They're like mid 20s like early 20s and like a lot of them have like fun personality So I don't know if they've kind of changed now because you're right like the older guys are kind of like like the duty war the Guys right yeah, yeah, yeah my favorite poker name is obviously Phil moneymaker Chris or Chris money maker Yeah, yeah money maker. Yeah, he makes any one world's here which was awesome Yeah, I think you actually beat Greg Ramer I think that was the last guy that was in when he won I think because he had a huge bluff that won him That was basically like really tip the early tip the scales in his favor tip the money in his favor We do have a couple who is sports. Why is sports? What is sports and again hilarious and that there was a Who is sprots?
Yeah, he spelled yeah, he spelled sports wrong great for like humorous wonderful pretty solid But keep sending those ones in absolutely Any part of this is a three-part question for John That's a fine though it is for John, but I highly doubt Stefan and I are gonna have anything to say about this question number one is McEwen finally wins Manitoba this year. Yes or no, this is curling. I guess I'm assuming so I love I love Mikey great guy great team No, no, you know, I gotta say yes to that. I think you say yes to you for sure I hope so honestly I hope for those guys they do it part two of that question kind of moot now because yes if he does get in does he dominate the Briar yes if he wins Manitoba he wins the Briar unless I'm in it and then I win the Briar and This for all of us I guess number three your picks for the 2016 netball world jump Going down mark Burkina Faso Dartmouth It's the world Yeah, I want to say no pick an actual country you pick Denmark I pick Burkina Faso I don't look at what the actual netball rank equals okay.
We'll see who has the highest closest. Yeah, okay, so here we go. We've got uh, Oh boy, oh shit none of us are no whales Where's Denmark? Come on.
Oh boy. I don't see Denmark if Burkina Faso is ahead of Denmark. I'm gonna love it No, they're not either of us are even on it. There's only 32 red teams They have a 33 that's just blank and tight while Thailand is in 32nd, but they have zero rating case and then Namibia's In 32nd or 31st with one if anyone from Denmark is listening to your shit together with regards You're the only one who picks someone that actually is and they're like relatively high up That's right pick the city to start Oh, I thought you're picking the university.
Oh, you're going with that Atlantic. Sure. Yeah. Yeah University also.
Wow. This is great. Um, there's so many things. I want to look up on this netball website Oh, it's the world's number one women's team sport.
I would have guessed. Um, I would guess ring it actually But I guess ring that's probably even more specific. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't yeah, I don't know ring it Like you'd think well or basketball or soccer.
Yeah, I would think it was soccer. Yeah, I don't know how they qualify that That's just what I'm really understanding what netball is. It's still kind of like a basketball with no basketball with no backboard. Okay, essentially So there's a net on a pole.
Yeah, okay, sweet. Basically. Here we go. This I'll read the BBC sport netball world cup article all you need to know about netball It's the it's set to be the biggest competition in the comp the World Cup in 2015.
It just happened just ended. Who won? Uh, good question. I'll look at that.
Uh, netball Down the netball world here. This is stupid. Whatever it was in Sydney. Uh, the final was played in an 18,000 seat capacity arena.
So Australia won actually. They did. Okay. They were the firm favorites.
New Zealand have long been their fierce rivals and they beat them in the final Uh, there you go. Then the hell of a game. Uh, so then we've it doesn't say anything about the rules It just says all the stuff about the thing. Oh, I like um, allowy their number five ranking in the world and they do a team pushup to celebrate a victory Uh, they are the nation's most successful sporting team in Malawi and have become known as the Harlem Globetrotters of the netball world Because they have an unorthodox style of play featuring tricks, flicks and fancy footwork to combat the balls And people's pants.
Using a ladder. The balls on the string. I want to watch this. Oh, I like this.
This is a good quote too. Uganda's netballers reportedly had to wash cars In order to fund their campaign to Sydney and Uganda's netball team nickname is the she cranes. Oh, which is pretty dope. Yeah, I need to watch the netball Yeah, we got a fun.
Yeah, we got a oh, there's another article here. How to get into netball. Oh, this is just like to play it. Okay.
Yeah, because I thought uh, yeah, I don't know Seven aside. Okay, players cannot travel with the ball making netball a game of fast passing with the object being to outscore your opponent by shooting more balls through the goal ring Can they dribble? I don't think it's dribbling. I think it's like you're playing handball Ultimate Frisbee.
Yeah, it's like ultimate Frisbee, but with the ball and then a hoop. I guess No, we should stop talking. Yeah, it's probably not fun. Those are some good questions this week.
Yeah, great questions. You have something about bat flipping. I know you know, there was people want We can get into that actually. Yeah, we can because I think a little like world series is still going on so we'll see that flips will be on next week show You want to tune in for that all bat flips for the full hour and a half We're gonna get Chris Carter to comment on bat flips also and yeah, it's gonna be great But yeah, that'll do it for the twitter mailbag not a lot of questions today and you guys move right in to the hf boards Post of the week and we're back to bowie Horvat and he brought his a game this week He had mentioned the whole thing about Lucas Bisa was signed to that contract as expansion draft protection That was one of the earliest.
Yeah, so we're coming back that he's still going on about this Um, and so he talks about it and someone says lol And this is in reference to kabak or Las Vegas any team lol He will probably take someone else and the Canucks will be stuck with his shit house contract. That's spisa shit house Yeah, and then boy Horvat says yes, and then we get to keep karateo slash Weber instead of losing them if we didn't sign spisa What part of this doesn't make sense because it's ridiculous to purposely sign a bad player so you can burn your expansion protection not on him Jesus Christ come on open your mind. So his logic is Your mind it's better to sign a shitty player so you can leave them unprotected when there's an expansion draft You can be the latest member of so you get to Las Vegas Yeah, so you can see you get to protect a better player Which is the the most short-sighted like you know what you could do in the first place instead not sign a bad player Yeah, yeah, or that yeah, it's always good Which like you know the players that get plucked in those sort of situations They're the same players who like get snagged off waivers when they're like oh still on the cost But not quite you know, but they're too old to clear waivers. It's your you know Jason chimera Yeah, linden vase and here's the other there's Kyle's Quincy like this is the thing never Benning Kyle's chifchura bending probably would put him on a protection I'm like Benning wouldn't leave spisa unprotected.
Yeah, it's unbelievable. Yeah, it's unbelievable high-end attention I'm gonna throw this down and I say as I'm Lucas B's is the worst player in the NHL and I hate him He's not the worst player in the NHL, but it does bring us a contract combined with ability and how frustrating he is to watch because he I don't know man in terms of contract combined with I think so you're gonna go back to Robod Again, I'm Robodas worse for sure and has the same contract and is older and there's still more but I've got one you're left All right, too. Oh, okay. I think it's pretty I think I signed with a three-year deal.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure What is your Lucas B's a would do of the week? Would you come up with something right now on the spot? Oh, I'm singing so you have time to think I Nail into your day.
I was watching home alone recently. Okay I would I would do all the things that happen to the robbers so I Thought they called again the wet wet and yes I would step on the nail that is that scene is like they I can't leave a show that in the movie Yeah, a lot like bad stuff. It's kind of like funny. You know like the paint buckets Yeah, but I mean when you see him actually that's like some saw shit right there steps on the nail You're gonna go in so I do that I would grab the the red hot doorknob and like melt my hand Yeah, and he gets he is there was an article where some like medical professional went through all the injuries And it's like yeah, like they would be dead.
I like that I like that that's our new thing in 2015 that we like go back to old movies That we like I like the I like to watch them I like to the mighty docks where someone wrote into a former NHL referee Kerry Fraser's column your call and was like so would the flying V have been a legal move or was it off-side? And the way that they dish the pocket actually would have been on side in Kerry Fraser made a real Just the guy at the front bring in the guy in the front ends up bringing in the cross yeah So it's good So it's a legal move and I think it's also funny that you're talking about home alone because I've never somehow thought about this But you got a McCauley Culkin kind of look thing. Yeah, I look I look very similar Yeah, so you could easily play like the in the like unauthorized lifetime Recreation home alone. I am gonna go for Halloween this year because I'll just put on like a Christmas letter and you're good to Your hands on your cheek exactly or you or yeah, or you could go naked just in a towel.
Yeah, that's true with the yeah Yeah, after she yeah, well you're gonna start in like the home loan sequel slash saw prequel well Yeah, cuz it happened mitalis to became chicks. There's the whole theory about that too. That's the theory It's no it actually is this it was a grand land on anything's the theory if you wanted to be just but look up The Kevin McAllister jigsaw theory because a lot of things a lot of sense. No, it doesn't well There's there's some major logical in that the guy install is like 80 years old.
Yeah, so there's obviously a bit of a leap of logic there But some of it some it does make sense. It's interesting Yeah, I wrote an article that's like oh wouldn't it be cool if like the reality of the movie was like fake and everything is a dream Like that's would be great like cuz it's like fiction right so it doesn't make sense that these things happen Which is why the fiction is also fiction. Yeah, that was your bad Real late I really have to squeeze in the good joke here. It's a lot of pressure in the last like one I just fucking hate your ears.
They're the absolute worst and I'll go on the internet. I hate theory use in general And fans I hear a relatively I hate relativity. I'm from South Korea though So you know the whole fan death reference Just do you get a Justin? They're terrible not anymore.
I think the older generation had this thing where they thought if you leave a fan on at night with the window closed You'll die The room will still with their there's just not enough. It's I don't it's right just the fan death thing. Yeah, I mean it sounds tight Yeah, it's a real good theory. Yeah.
Yeah, all right That's what we came out as firmly anti theories this You have a theory don't send it to us all right not care And we will wrap things up a little bit earlier this time only an hour 15 in the perfect Sorry that we just so long lately for another Minutes in past episodes which means the one last thing to get to is our cultural recommendation Or doesn't have to be we take a look at the world at large and pick the things we like it's one good thing The cherry on top of our single Sunday wants to start it off. I can go first sure yeah This was if this is my rex soccer team beer Solona FC It's a good one up at beer and so far. I get it. See I think it's I got the fan when I don't get that one Yeah, you actually can't tell if you're serious Okay, okay, because you get this look you're like I'm really serious I'm like a soccer team.
Yeah, okay, you get it I we had we're in the losers bracket of the playoffs if you can believe it and I can and it's I can believe the gym It's seven aside soccer and we only had seven people show up yesterday Okay, so we had to play the entire game without subs and it was a team You played a couple weeks ago and they kick the absolute shit out of us two weeks ago when they only had six players and we had 20 So that should tell you what to what we were expecting yesterday, but they were they're all super nice They knew they were better than us so they kind of treated it as like I mean they still beat us eight nothing yesterday But it was fun, you know what I mean like they were nice about it I almost scored from half and was chipped the goalie it hit the crossbar I fucked my knee up, but it was the most fun. I've had playing soccer in a long time So I want to give a shout out to beer cilona fc and we've got our final game Next sunday, I believe and I think it's for last place in the league So I think I do commentary on that if you want to be one I was gonna say that was a podcast so after the game as With beer cilona fc'd go to the bar and get messy. No, we just drink in a playground Oh, I get it. Oh, okay.
Yeah. No, I see like the player on no, we'd also like there's a playground Yeah, I know there's a playground actually I just have it all real long. Yeah, yeah, oh, okay. Yeah, messy No, I got it before I was kind of doing a joke Yeah, sure, uh-huh.
I have a theory that you didn't get it until just I'll never tell. Oh, it's all back to the theory. Thank you. Wow.
I have a professional comedian A little slow enough today. I'll be the fall guy. Yeah, I'm the one who didn't get that Gonna prison just like I knew it when I signed up for the podcast that I would be the guy of the three of us who would have to go to Yeah, I'm in prison than both of us. My one good thing is our rec soccer team beer cilona fc And we're hoping not to come last place in the league next week You can do happens, but we'll have an update on good for you.
I guess Hopefully you didn't come last Yeah, that's not one good thing. All right. Nice. Well, I alluded to it earlier, but I will say my one good thing this week is mario kart 8 I recently purchased a Wii U off of step from stephen.
Um, and uh, yeah, it's an awesome game I also I've been playing it quite a bit and I also got the dlc for the game which included uh 16 new tracks for 11 bucks And you can play as link which is on and you can play as link and he has become my favorite driver I've been dominating with link and uh, yeah, the new tracks are awesome. It also includes a link back Oh, yeah, high rule I went to the castle and then forest and and then all the coins are rupees and yeah, it's pretty amazing So, uh, yeah, just been playing the shit out of that game super fun I'm sure most of you listening to this have either played it or own it But if for some reason you haven't do that and if you haven't got the d if you have a game and you haven't got a dlc Highly recommended it was only 11 bucks for both of the dlc packs. It's yeah 16 new tracks six new characters Super super fun and apparently they're releasing even more they have the plans for a third set of new courses So I'm pumped. I love it.
That's probably just old courses that have been remastered some of them are yeah So every every extra pack so far has been two new courses and then two redesigned courses All right. Well, um, I one good thing it was a big weekend in the world of professional wrestling Yeah, lots of lots of wrestling this weekend summer slums four hours as we mentioned earlier It was a show the night before nxt takeover also in brooklyn two and a half hours and I got some sports feelings this weekend from a very unexpected place Sports feeling I got very emotional during the uh, the women's title match during nxt takeover brooklyn between sasha banks and bayley sasha banks We've talked about on the show before she snooped dogs cousin and probably the best women's wrestler in the entire world and uh, uh, you know, we We've mentioned that uh, you know, they're changing the face of women's wrestling and nxt the nxt four of sasha bayley Becky Lynch and charlotte My life And I've had this title match and every time I've got it slick right in my fingers, but not this time That's right. You're facing the nxt women champion Very pal don't have a happy ending. This was kind of the end of that era essentially it was probably sasha's last match In nxt so and uh, they all broke character at the end It's back in and charlotte came up to the ring and they all hugged and cried and it was very emotional And it was a really great match also of the entire six and a half to seven hours of wrestling that took place this weekend I would say that the women's title match in the nxt special was the best of them So uh hop on youtube check it out definitely well worth the time So what juson saying is this weekend he cried at a woman's wrestling match.
