Eltern kennen das. Man geht mit seinen Kids auf den Spielplatz, tobt mit den kleinen Duracell-Häschen, deren Akku ewig hält (remember?) über das Gelände und freut sich, wenn man irgendwann ein Plätzchen gefunden hat, um mal durchzuatmen. Wenn man dann den Blick hebt, erkennt man die anderen Eltern, die sich rund um den Spielplatz niedergelassen haben und die fast alle eins tun: Sie schauen nach unten. Wenn ein Kind dann zwischendurch „Mama, schau mal“ oder „Papa, hilf mir“ ruft, dann sehen sie sich hektisch um, checken die Lage, um kurz danach wieder runter zu schauen. Auf ihr Smartphone. Ehrlicherweise habe auch ich mich schon oft dabei erwischt, denn die Verlockung ist bekanntlich riesig. Mal eben die Mails checken, in WhatsApp auf eine Frage antworten, vielleicht auch „etwas kleines wegarbeiten“. Doch man versäumt kostbare Zeit, und die Kids finden das natürlich völlig zurecht „doof“. Genau dieses Dilemma nahm der Berliner Autor und zweifache Vater Markus Albers zum Anlass, um sich einmal selbst zu reflektieren. Seine Erkenntnis war: Wir sind heute nicht mehr „chained to the desk“. Wir sind „chained to the screen“. Und noch mehr: Durch unseren „Always on-Modus“ droht uns eine digitale Erschöpfung. Was können wir also dagegen tun? Über diese Frage hat Markus ein wunderbares Buch geschrieben, das ich gelesen und drüben bei Medium verbloggt habe.
