8. The Power of Meditation and How to Start Your Practice with MB Mannino

from Electric Ideas with Whitney Baker: Motherhood, Self-Connection, Joyful Living & Self-Care · host Whitney Baker

Living in such an overstimulated society makes it easy to forget to recharge. If you are looking for a place to tune out the noise and connect with yourself at a deeper level, meditation is a great place to start. Your practice doesn't have to be the formal, seated meditation we often picture. You'll be surprised to find out that meditation can come in many different forms. And if you aren't sure how to begin, our next guest will give you steps to get started.    Today, I speak with Mary Beth "MB" Mannino, a certified meditation teacher, breathwork facilitator and holistic wellness coach. After experiencing corporate burnout, MB took her healing into her own hands. Her wellness journey led her to her calling of helping others discover their own potential through self-healing practices. Using meditation and breathwork, she creates and holds space for women to connect to their truth, reclaim their power and live more meaningful lives.   During our discussion, MB shares what meditation is, why it's important, and how to get started if you're at the beginning of your meditation journey.    In this episode, we cover:    -Why meditation is important and what meditation really is    -Where to begin if you want to start practicing meditation    -How meditation can help shake habits that you have been struggling with for a long time   -Letting go of expectations when starting a meditation practice   -How to invite nontraditional meditation practices into your life    Connect with MB:  IG: @MB.Mannino Website: mbmannino.com The Practice: Intro to meditation and breathwork course    Connect with Whitney:  @whitneywoman
