80: Hollywood Editor Francy Kachler

https://www.instagram.com/fkachler/ Francy loves editing and her passion is in unscripted. There is so much  magic in realism for her. She mainly edits documentary films and reality  television. But recently cut a friend's short film recently and  had a  blast. And film had a nice festival run and was used as a jumping-off  point for her friend's directing television career.   Recently Francy finished working on a doc that played at the most recent  Outfest,  " Freedia Got a Gun."  It was accepted at Tribeca and Afi  docs this year, as well.  She's edited films that have gone to Sundance, Belingdale, Tribeca, and  all over the world. She's currently working on a 6 part doc for HBO, but  it hasn't been announced yet.  Francy loves to talk about editing  process and workflow, and how to get into the industry especially  working as a  minority and woman in the industry.  She's done teaching in the past and recently did a session with grad  students at UC Santa Cruz.
