One of, if not THE largest jury award for a wrongful condition was given to a man who spent 4 decades working to exonerate himself. Earlier this year Darryl Boyd died from pancreatic cancer just months before he was finally set to go to trial, suing the city of Buffalo after spending decades behind bars for a murder he did not commit. Boyd was one of the so called “Buffalo 5”, teenaged black man all wrongfully accused in the robbery and murder of a white man.
