81 – Revive Yourself – Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride On Autism, Chronic Illness & The GAPS Diet

from Revive Yourself Podcast With Ryan Martin · host Revive Yourself Podcast With Ryan Martin

Today I got to interview someone I have been following for years and years. Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride (along with Donna Gates) is one of the people whose work has greatly influenced my own health and the health of the many clients I have helped since working professionally. Dr. Campbell-McBride is a medical doctor with two postgraduate degrees: Master of Medical Sciences in Neurology and Master of Medical Sciences in Human Nutrition. She graduated as a medical doctor in Russia. After practicing for five years as a Neurologist and three years as a Neurosurgeon she started a family and moved to the UK, where she got her second postgraduate degree in Human Nutrition. She practices in the UK as a nutritionist and not as a medical doctor. She is best known for developing a concept of GAPS (Gut And Psychology Syndrome), which she described in her book Gut And Psychology Syndrome - Natural Treatment for Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Depression, and Schizophrenia, now in its second edition. Thousands of people around the world follow the highly successful GAPS Nutritional Protocol to help themselves and their families. Her clinic is now closed but Dr. Campbell-McBride has worked as a nutritional consultant with many patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, arrhythmia, stroke and other complications of atherosclerosis. She has become acutely aware of the existing confusion about nutrition and these conditions, which spurred an intensive study into this subject. The result of this study was her book Put Your Heart In Your Mouth! - What Really Is Heart Disease And What We Can Do To Prevent And Even Reverse It. The interview we discussed: Why Dr. Campbell McBride moved to the UK Why she developed the GAPS diet What people can do to reverse and massively reduce the effects of Autism and other mental health illness Why the gut is now considered our first brain, ahead of the one in our head, and why keeping it healthy is the key to long-lasting health How toxins are behind every chronic illness Why partner being healthy before getting pregnant is essential for fertility and for the health of their baby Why it’s essential we bring the practice of Wet Nursing back & much much more It was great talking to Dr. CAmpbell McBride and I can’t wait to get her back on the show to talk all about her new book Vegetarianism Explained. You can find Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride here: http://www.doctor-natasha.com/ Enjoy the show and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family, as well as writing a comment, or a review on iTunes.
