I spoke to clinical psychologist Dr. Andrew Hartz, founder of the Open Therapy Institute, about bias in modern mental health, ideological capture in psychology, and why so many people no longer trust therapists to stay objective. We explore the emotional dysregulation behind political extremism, how identity politics affects therapy rooms, whether certain modern ideologies are actually bad for mental health, and why so many clients feel unheard, judged, or pathologised for having ordinary views on faith, family, men's issues, race, gender, and social change.
