82 How Can Daily Mass Benefit You?

from For College Catholics Hosted by Fr. Patrick Wainwright, MC

The Eucharist is like a Furnace of Love. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is there, offering Himself for our salvation, worshipping God the Father, praying for us, and giving thanks for so many blessings we receive. When we receive Jesus—this Furnace of Love—in communion, our love is increased, and we receive all the graces necessary to become holy. Today we talk about why it will benefit you to attend mass and receive Communion frequently! - St. John Paul II – Letter to Priests “Dominicae Cenae”, 1990 on the Celebration of the holy Mass: https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/letters/1980/documents/hf_jp-ii_let_19800224_dominicae-cenae.html - More info on this can be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church #1356-1370 - Biblical quotations: Gen 4 (Sacrifice of Cain and Abel); Exodus 12:6 (Old Testament sacrifices); Leviticus 16:1-19; Leviticus 16:20-22; Isaiah 53:5-6 (Prophecy of the Passion of Christ offered for our sins); Hebrews 10:3-12 (the Sacrifice of Christ replaces Old Testament sacrifices); - Fr.
