Part 2 of Eoin's chat with Mary Lennon.Mary is from County Louth in Ireland and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just this year at the age of 38, alongside being diagnosed with Covid-19. Mary is a medical care worker and a medical student.Mary talks through her diagnosis story and tells us how she was turned away from hospital four times before being officially diagnosed. It wasn’t until she used a friend’s blood glucose monitor to check her levels that she knew something was wrong.Despite being diagnosed so recently, Mary speaks of how her confidence has grown around the condition as a result of her personal study, connecting with an online community and her family support system.
