Yeah, I imagine it's probably either Nevada or somewhere somewhere between Nevada and California Sure, um And yeah, so that breaks and then I guess they call dolan the guys driving the truck Yeah, they call him and him and his like right hand man, uh chief and his driver delta jesus Um, they uh, they all they go out there. Stephen king. It's almost as though he spent time himself Um, so they uh, they open up the truck and most of the women are dead Um There are some that are still alive and they're you know, they're asking to be bled out and whatnot And uh, they just lock up the the box truck and um, we don't find out until later, but they just bury it which is uh, it's horrifying Um, yeah, really really fucked up. They also uh, dolan kills the yeah, he shoots the driver's dead and um, while all this is happening Uh, uh, Elizabeth play by manual, uh, whatever There's some sharpness.
This is vaguer the vega vega vega vega Vaguer names Vauge vauge, I don't know She she's riding her horse through the desert there and she uh, she sees all this go down She she makes like a big deal out of seeing it not not in the aftermath, but in the present moment Like she she makes her presence known. So They're they they plan this ambush and as dolan leaves, I guess his casino or some shit It gets in his Cadillac Car pulls up and all these guys jump out with machine guns and they shoot out the Cadillac.
Yeah, it's like seven to ten Non-SNL cast members exactly. Um, and buddy they can't shoot that thing because it's bulletproof. I fucking knew it Bulletproof And then brother. Yeah, then what's the name chief?
My guy just shoots all of them in the head And he says all right everyone line up. I mean he only used him one bullet on this thing Basically does that like he takes his time drawing his gun and they just stand there and take take the shots Um, if I I'll be honest with you. None of those guys really are uh, uh, come on Nice Um, so it west family. He's like he's sort of like, I don't know he's uh, making making himself a little too No, he's mean to conspicuous dolan catches on that he's being followed Um, him and his uh, his right hand man chief They they catch up with him and they just kick the shit out of him in a uh, you know, like a truck stop mens room or something And and dolan he's like I'm not gonna kill you because I want you to uh, what is he's like?
I want you to live um, I want you to live with this in your like like the you couldn't do it kind of thing Yeah, he says uh, yeah, he says How's the dolan voice go that's sort of simpering? Say uh, they say the day dies just like um, just like any other day only shorter from the meaning of life is uh, That it stops and that's what makes it so precious right? So if I kill you in a weird way, I'm giving you that gift So he doesn't want to kill him because he yeah, he wants him to just like die alone in miserable over time Which again is ridiculous like no real reason right because like his wife was The witness. Yeah, she is dead.
Yes. They that's it You know what I think in the if if dolan was cast as somebody if they cast dolan I don't know like the actor was better or like more Well, just more like more sinister and more intimidating. I think that that whole speech more intimidating than christian's later I think that whole speech would have had more of an effect. I think uh, you know him just saying like explaining it the way he does Is so it's a little it's too nonchalant.
You know, there's no like gravitas to it Um, you know, it I don't know like when fucking christopher walk in like, you know before he became a parody of himself Um when he would like when he was you know presented when he was on screen it was like a presence, you know Like christian's later does not have a presence to him. He really does not though at least not in this movie Um, so does he ever did he ever? Yeah, it's good and Heather's um That's something else. I'm sure Surely there's more than one christian's later.

Yeah, I am DB You know it all So 45 minutes into this movie and i went to this podcast He uh, west manly he wants a job working a road crew and uh the boss here. I like this guy He is uh, he's a character.
He's really he's amping up everything that he's saying. He's uh, you know, he Oh my god him and the like the fucking Oh, is it jamaican the african guy? Yeah, but yeah, I mean he just read like it's like the instruction He was given was like do like a one-off live and let die characters like one line One of those guys. Yeah, um, because he is just like He's having the time of his life.
Yeah, and then the uh The boss he's like, I don't know He's he's just like a tough guy. He's just like you're not gonna make it Basically calling him like pretty boy and they're like all right. You know, we don't want you out there Like you're gonna you're gonna pass out. It gets to it gets 120 out there.
You're not gonna make it He's like I could do it. I could do it. They're like fine. And then because here's the thing i've already been through hell No, it doesn't say that.
But it's Yeah, not a lot of like movie dialog starts with someone going because here's the thing because here's the thing Because i'm here's the thing i'm freaking dolan my car's bulletproof Baby Chief chief can you go shoot those guys in the head So West manlies We don't find this out until later, but let's let's just jump to the final half hour because it does take up the whole last half hour Um, well, I do quickly want to just I want to address how he worked like how he earns his way onto that that road crew Sure He has an old watch Says this is my grandfather's watch if uh, tell you what if I don't tough it out And see through the summer you can keep it Otherwise I get it back and then there's like I only want to bring that up because yeah I liked the the like head of the construction crew for that moment later on when he's like he tries to give him the watch again He's like I want your fucking watch. Yeah, like he just doesn't really care at all about this pageantry I thought that was a weird fun touch. Yeah, yeah So yeah come to find out he's been working on this road crew so that he can get the knowledge and access to equipment that he needs to Trap dolan. Yeah, you know, he just takes a big hole for him to fall in um, and it's it's a loony tune Yeah, it's just uh, what's the prank?
One of one of one of these like weird subfit plots here is like dolan In being like a human trafficker here. Um, I don't know all these scenes where he's like checking out the women and he's like inspecting them and stuff It all comes off. It's like very strange. Not just like again.
It doesn't come off as like evil as it should Um, no, it but it's just like it's so Not like you just know on a gut level that that's nothing like what's actually happening. Yeah, trafficking ring Right. Like you're not no one's like inspecting the merchandise in that way. Yeah, like one at a time.
Right? Like they're doing like these girls are uh, they have like makeup on and they're putting like like sexy lingerie and things like that And uh, and they have like cards with numbers in front of them where that you know, and he's like, uh, this one's no good This one's good and all this stuff like but I don't I don't understand what like quality control thing you're trying to do here. This is like, I don't know It just seems like he's running like some sort of beauty patch and it's not a human trafficking Right. Well, it's it's like a it's it's like how breaking bad treats meth like it's not an artisanal It's just it's just bad stuff.
Yeah, but artisanal meth Um, I'm a I'm dolan. I'm a curator. I'm dolan. I'm a curator Yeah, um, you know, not just some criminal So one of his I guess the guy, you know, he's like one of his partners in this deal He's like yeah, I know a way that we can make double the money and uh, you know, it'll it'll cost us the same thing and dolan's like Well, how do you do that?
And he's like, I'll show you and and at this point as an audience when we're like, oh, he's he's talking about kids Obviously like that's that's what's worse. What's worse than what's happening right now? Only one thing Um, so yeah, west manly's whole deal is he wants uh, he wants to learn how to work road crew He wants access to all that equipment because uh, he's in a trap Well what I can't believe no, I just realized that the only thing that can stop a Cadillac is Bentley I did I was yeah watching this. I'm like, his name is Bentley.
That's that's fun. That's that's Well, I guess the game is a foot then we'll see what happens. Yeah, although I think I know yeah Full proof Oh brother. Okay.
So what's what's been these playing here laid out dig this right west. Well. Yeah, he does got it. Oh man Yeah three day weekend.
What's he gonna do? Uh as soon as the crew pretty much like as soon as the crew leaves for their three day weekend west Bentley's out there He's digging a huge Cadillac size hole Uh, which he covers up with a tarp that he's painted to look like the road Um because he also like oh I think because he's in regular communication throughout this whole movie with an fbi agent who keeps telling him more information than he needs to know Yeah, um He he ascertains that dolan, uh, he makes like a regular trip out to la Um every whatever day Yeah, you know we'll say monday So um and like he knows from tailing him that this road is on the route that he takes So, you know come monday What's he do? He drags all the uh road is closed. Do not go this way signs off off onto the side of the road hides them behind his big mystery machine van And uh, uh, uh, I'll tell you what uh delta Driver, she drives that thing full speed into a big fucking hole in the ground All right, you broke my damn watch.
Yeah, it broke their damn to watch it. They broke everything It broke delta. She died. Yeah, she died.
Uh chief has a compound fracture. The bone is just gross and poking around through And uh, this is two weeks in a row with a bone poke. Oh, yeah, I guess it is chief's gone the way of a corn kid. Yeah Yeah, that's trope now.
Uh, yeah two makes a trope. Um, you know that proprietary Stephen king trope of a compound fracture So, um The character of chief really just fucking I don't know kind of sucks. Oh my god. Yeah, especially Like it really is neck and neck between him and dolan fur who is the one-year baby.
Yeah, like chief will not stop screaming The entire time the whole time. Yeah, I get it. You know probably hurts real real bad. Yes, but uh, also What's your belly?
I can get you right? You're in a tough spot, man. You need to gather your wits. Yeah, put it together, man Like I don't know the the whole movie.
He's like this like, you know, he's like a snowick kind of guy and uh, you know He's supposed to be like the most badass and then like you know he gets a compound fracture and he just like he's just like Mr. Mr. dolan You're my friend, right? And he's like, oh god and then he he does shoot him.
Yeah, dolan shoots him in the head And he's just like I can't I can't deal with it anymore Even that like how much how much better would it have better a villain would dolan have been if he had just like Immediately shot him like right. Yeah, did not even give it a thought and just please be quite I need to think right Right, even that would have been like something something so then we're treated to I don't know what feels like 30 minutes of the last two pages of the casket of amontiado is just a lot of West Bentley taunting Christian Slater as he's slowly burying the Cadillac. Yeah, he's yeah, Christian Slater is in the caddy and he's trying to he's trying to reason with west manly Because he doesn't know who he is right off the bat and then and then he realizes it and he's like, you know Starts doing the you know the normal shit offering him money says he's gonna kill him all that kind of shit, right? And what I don't know it does go on for like it is the last half hour of the movie.
I think this is way too much I agree. You uh, there's like you reach a point of diminishing returns here like this is not Nothing we're not learning anything new and the There's nothing really escalating like the situation never changes like west manly is in control the entire time It's never like dolan gets the upper hand at any point and like we're you know We think that maybe he's gonna I don't know get west manly like nothing none of that happens He's in control the entire time and we're just like okay. Well at this point We're just waiting for the movie to end like we're just waiting for him to call it a wrap right? Yeah, you it's yeah, it's just too immediately clear that christian slater's not getting out of that hole Yeah, like there's no there's no way for him to do it like at one point he almost gets out of the The sunroof but that's that's quickly dashed that I don't even yeah, not even think that could be considered uh, you know Any sort of attention.
Yeah, that's nothing. Yeah, no really here's how this should have gone should have gone Car goes in a big hole. Yeah, we got like two minutes of dolan pleading fbi agent call says hey We we got him on like yeah, we know that he's trafficking kids now. We're gonna get him Yeah, which also as an fbi agent you shouldn't be telling people that yeah, it has happened He's a bad fbi agent.
Yeah, he's oh, that's how the wife got blown up that guy. I don't know chief was probably like hey Where's uh, where's the lady's car and he was like, huh? Oh, it's that one. Yeah, let me help you with that It's dumb.
Yeah, it's bad. That's bad. And then the movie just kind of ends there. Yeah kind of ends Yeah, it ends with uh, I mean dolan is buried alive west bently he he chopped up the road into Bit squares and he just slowly fills in the hole for the most part And then he's placing all these squares back You know placing the road back in order and then uh, there's like the last one is like right over the sunroof And you can see him like like what's his name christian Slater is just like in there and he's like no don't do it and he's uh trapped under ice Yeah, and the west bently just you know he covers him up I'll say this I never don't find it stressful when someone is buried.
Yeah, that's terrible even in this uh, this you know deeply flawed movie Yeah, um got me Yeah, well, that's I mean here's the thing probably yeah, yeah, I mean it sounds like there's a lot you didn't like about this movie Um, but you're gonna have to pick one one thing a top dog if you will. Uh oh Why is it there? Oh, that hurts my parts So that hurts hurts my parts rob what hurt your parts here in dolins see uh, I Mean I can't the the the miscasting of christian Slater is pretty pretty tough I found the movie does boring overall Yeah, nobody does the right thing like nobody I don't know like story wise I mean like nobody is doing anything interesting or creating tension in any way like west bently gets a job working for the road Crew or whatever and you're like, okay. Well, I don't I don't know where this is going and then you find it where it's going and you're like Okay, and then it goes there for the last half hour to move and you're like, okay, okay?

That didn't sit well with me That's a I didn't like that her whole motivation was to get pregnant and then her death was the the motivating Like it only motivated the fly device. Yeah, that's all she was around there for she was there to see a murder get pregnant and then die Yeah, yeah, yeah, I didn't like that. Yeah, I'm like that quite so much. All right.

Okay, miss slimmer And this is uh, that's where was slimmer That was where where was slimmer?
And this is my problem. I got these all these mush mouths in my marbles Uh, which brings us to our final final segment final, uh, Well, let's let's go with segment.
