Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to the AllTalk Car Podcast, special episode. My name's AllTalk EV. All talk, EV today.
We're, as you heard, I've hosted my Peter Madison. We're going to practice from last week on the broadcast. So I've got Roscoe, let us hear you. How can I make it tonight?
I'm still trying to race. He's GDSR, what's it called? Roll Racing. Oh, this is right.
We're going soon, so we've got to be back at All's. Roll Racing, we've got another podcast now. We've got to get it tonight. We've got Richard Hessler.
Hey, come on, mate. Well, thank you for having us. My way of introduction. We've got, you've probably owned the most Teslas in Australia.
We've got almost a whole range. Just don't have the model three. You can get one now. We can order one online.
We can order one online. Let's quickly start, please. Let's go back. Let's go back to episode two or three when we first started a couple of years.
And I was anti-electric cuts. And the listeners know, don't like them ridiculous. They're not going to take off. Who would Porsche never make one?
No, no, no. Now, you want to be the I8? We've had the model three? You want to buy one?
You want to buy an electric car? Well, let's just run through. Richard's got. And then we can decide he might even help you with your big chance.
We've got the original road start. The original road start. The original road start. 2.0.
We've got a model X that we've got working in the resort in the county. We'll get through that. And the person I've got a model X. And a model X.
So we're just missing a model three. No, it's just pack up now. It's just pack up now. It's not a model three.
I want to go back to the origins. The road start. I mean, not many came to Australia. Yes.
17. With A, officially, were they private orders? Were they through the Tesla? Yeah.
Well, maybe they have the whole marketplace headquarters and all that back in. But basically people, even back in myself, like you'd seen on the road. Never seen that. Super rare.
And my kid and I were used to playing a game in the car. And you scored points for a different car. And you actually won the game forever if you saw a DeLorean driving or a Tesla road. That's a really good game.
Yeah. And my oldest son saw a DeLorean driving when they implied it. So he won the game forever. So he never saw the road.
So we saw the game. He saw the plane. Yeah, that's it. And it was like 100 points for Lamborghini and all this kind of thing.
One point for like a Yaris or something. I don't say it's a Tesla. I mean, he loves the Yaris. See it's awesome.
Of course, you want to come out of the Yaris? The Toyota. The Toyota one is going crazy. I went down.
I was driving. I think he just rags for 10 seconds. So the road start. When did you first buy?
I'm going to cut it for about 5 years now. With my business partner. I'm going to share it. Basically it is just.
It's a rare scar on the road. You've got a high in Lamborghini or Ferrari. You've got there's only 17 in the whole country. And you never see them.
How many of you know how many of you are in Sydney? I'm not sure. I think it's probably about 5. You've never kind of just got up to the traffic lines in the other side.
The only time I've seen another one in the flesh was a Tesla. If you're in service and it happens to be on the road. No, not already. But that is a signature color.
And we're not talking about the road. So that 1.9 seconds. It's going to come out. We're talking.
I mean, for those who have never seen one before. They're based on a lot of money. Yeah. With the Elon basically built the drive unit.
So the battery and the motor. But he literally didn't have any chassis experience. The chassis. Contract.
And he built the first one. It wasn't in the California. I don't know. It's a good road.
Did Lotus build any? I don't know. It's a good road. It's a good road.
It's a good road. It's a good road. It's a good road. It's a good road.
It's a good road. I just pulled a plug out. And I said, it's too pl I never discovered Newman. And all of a sudden it would increase a lot.
as a tag and you take off the roof panel and you screw it up screws and you can literally hold it between two or three fingers and something. I'm not sure what you're talking about. I've had carbon fiber bonds and bits and fingers on the parts. If I've cracked the panel, I've replaced the panel.
You think I can do it? No, I'm just saying. No. Well, I thought you were having that.
You might. Sorry about that. But I'm just saying, like, is there like a, you know, no tesla or an all tesla is quite expensive. Correct.
Correct. Is it something that's not comparable? I don't know. I'm careful.
I'm having any issues with the carbon panels on the road, sir. But you're correct, Ross. The all the aluminium and all the regular ones. But the insurance is not checked.
But we don't know. We can't hear the road stuff. Is it one piece or not? Is this if it panels?
Yeah, different panels. But I mean, it is that shazzy. Oh, it's not a smart cable. It's a little bit of a power.
It's like the Alpha Force here. It's got that very thick tub that you go over into all the original McLaren. Yep. Yep.
So yeah, the solders. I mean, it's 400 kilos. It's not that expensive. The type of batteries used in the road, sir.
I mean, I know with tesla's that it's always been about, it's not like a Nissan Leaf where they wanted 30 pounds. It's always been in the hundreds. It's cool looking down the lift. Yeah.
So what was interesting is my business partner, he bought a Model X. I think it was a 60 and he literally paid $11,000 and upgraded to a 75V from a 60. And then actually, forklift out the battery, replaced the new, more powerful battery, changed the badges and was at four hours ago. Who was talking to us about it?
We had a guest on it. Was talking about the performance three. Yeah. I think it was maybe, he was saying that the Tesla want to get to the stage where they do a new driving car.
If everyone starts buying these cars, they'll be selling it. So you're filling up the battery. We've got a Broadway shopping store and 15 people have got Tesla and there's 10 charges. They're all right.
So somebody swashed that pretty quickly and said, no, Tesla wasn't going to model that they'll drive up. All your all batteries out, you're cooking you on Denk and off you go. I mean, just like the latest iPhone, if you don't, you know, it's a tweet or a survey, you can ask a couple of days. And then the technology is obviously, no one can fault Elon, he's investing heavily in that.
The question I asked every electric vehicle under that comes on to the show. I know he asked. Yeah, everyone. Back to the end.
What happened to the shiver? I'll give it on a tip. I recently gave it out, which I didn't know in the first couple of months. No, no, no.
You can actually set the range remaining to actual based on your undriving or the average on what Tesla says. I'm going to change it to my actual use. The numbers went down because obviously I drive the car. No one drives like that.
Grandma kind of numbers. But then when you're getting realistic, you can actually budget in your head a lot. You know what? I mean, I live here in Kingston very close to East Village.
There's three levels of charge here. So you've got 240 volt plug in the same three from like your octopus. You can't stop. Correct.
That's minimum, minimum 24 hours. No one needs to get a full charge. No one needs to get a full charge. But if you have to, if you want to wait for the weekend, you need to charge the car.
It's never going to fully get like a couple corners. If you have overnight eight hours, would you get enough to go and drop the back? Oh, yeah. For the shops for sure.
Yeah, you get eight hours. We get a hundred caps. So then most shopping centers and the wineries and things are like the three base power ones. They're three.
So the shopping center of the winery will divide it. And that's a four to five hour charge. So if you go for a two hour shop or you go to a winery, you're going to have a half a, half a tank. Right.
But then, right. But then the fastest ones we're on your app, which is super charges, which are between 45 minutes and an hour. It's called an hour for empty to fall. Right.
They're all over Australia. They're on the app. So you can cover that. Central Coast.
It's a Melbourne problem. Unfortunately, north of there, you know what you got the shopping centers and things like that. So basically, yeah. So the super charges that everyone says that are on the highways are designed for you to have a food and cheese.
The ones around Sydney are buried on the south of Southern Highlands. They're running Broadway and Sydney. Sorry, Center. No, it's gone.
It's on the Croc Center at Boston. They're always in the best spots. So there's ballet. So you go straight in.
Free parking or multi-members of it. I've been teasing my wife that we're going to buy on Model 3. And I know I'm not going to buy it. You should get one.
Take a hand. No, actually. So we've never got that? Anyway, that's a shit.
But I can picture that phone call at the school run at 730 when I'm already at work. I forgot to plug the guy. I know. I've got a little bit of a vesting on it.
Like a pad. A charging pad. A car. It's on the airport or something.
It's contactless. It's on the type of person that never lets the mobile phone. I don't know. I always plug it.
I always plug it. It's always top up. So that's how I'll do the picture. You can always have a charge.
You can set it up 100% to let the charges fall and that reduces battery life. You get the maximum range. But most people that are doing C driving 90% and don't know the charges. Most people know I love a lot of my cards.
I'm part of suspension wheels. What do we do with a change of battery? Do you need to modify that? I don't know.
But if he was here, he would say do you need to modify P100D, which is already faster than 99.9% of the world. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The other host, he's bought a GDSR. Hold him.
He's got 700 million litres of hot. Whatever. And he's super charged with being fast. He's just going fast.
I'm not as fast as a big man. We're not. The three before. It's more than added.
I think we had this pretty good. It's not really. It's not that low. It was that bad.
It was that bad. How much did they go? 300. You could buy it at 9.
If you want to get rid of it. Kind of the model X. I mean, that's been around for a good six, seven years. And it still looks sharp on the low.
What is it? The designers. They really know that. So it came out in 2014.
The first ones. And this is the best thing in Russell. It's definitely great. That's great.
No, it's not nearer. Seven years later. How do you try it? Remember the C-7?
The next class, next year's S-Class has got that folding thing. But it's so practical. Like it's got Google Maps. What I love about it.
You just update it. You just update it. What I do love about it is we should be in nothing in a state if you're listening. You all need to listen.
They all need to get in tune with what I believe. See, I've looked up and heard what Tesla have done. If I was listening to Spotify, I put my username and password in. And I've got the name on the screen.
I'm not tenoring it from afar. I'm not going to. It comes with SIM card paid for my life. Spotify premium for life.
So I listened to a lot of Joe Rogan. And I'm driving. You just put on. You're listening to a lot of all talk.
But you can't look at that. You know, it's all built in. You Google Maps. I went away to the hands of Ali with some other friends that have got a Tesla model X.
And he said if I was driving the Queensland, he would just stop me. Range anxiety. He would just stop me at the charging stations. And would say, this is where you stop in the forty-four hours.
The Nav10 director. So if you say you were ambitious and you set cough, I'll have a look. And the car can tell you can't get it. And another thing about one of the changes is I've got an underbelly lot.
And there's a beautiful supercharger on the tug route. And a really great cafe in there. You actually stop. Have a break.
Use the bathroom. Have a coffee. And you can have a shorter charge. Or you can actually enjoy the break.
As opposed to the force break. You know what I'm right. Yes. So we've got four more tools in the handling valley.
So I have a business up there. We have a resort. And people love, you know, just going around here. Every C is equal.
So if you imagine a Q7 pulling out a good friend, maybe. The third row, the all seats are equal in the model. I've never been in a model X. I see a lot on the road.
They're not very long. So the problem is if you have the three row one, yes. So six or seven seats are confident. There's a third row seats.
There's a third row seats. There's basically no boot space. The third row space is a Q7, a three-seater X5. There's no row.
This is huge boots based on the X-1000. When you get into the third round, yes. You're not child, I don't know. No, no, no.
You're not considering? Yeah, the 16 is the best kind of comping for it. You're not doing a 16. So, two, two.
Because you get the captain's shares, but you see, each row and then you get the middle aisle, so you can actually walk in a nice aisle. And they're all on stalks. So, the thing is literally in a race talk, it goes forward about, yeah, it's really cool. Really cool, really cool.
And the one you've got up for the two. So, we're carrying for like six couple of people. And again, there's no fighting for who gets the people see working like that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
But you got to remember what that means. That means you're the front seat. So, what do you lose in the boot? You get in the front?
Also, the cool thing is that it's completely flat full. Yeah, it's true. So, isn't that an actual drive shaft? It's a front of the tour.
You said there's no space, but there's a space for it. A case of wine or something? Or the front key? The front key is the front key.
The front key is the front key. The front key is the front key is the front key. The front is the front of that. The front is the front of the vehicle.
The electric cars or the stuff. You know what, you know what, I love the boat. I mean, that noise, I'm actually looking at getting a electric outboard to the tent or the boat. I just want the experience of having an electric.
There's something about it. You know, nice to be in the tent bar. You want to go early morning, you want to go to the boat or go for sure. And I said this to be quiet.
I'm starting to be too short. It's true. You don't know. Especially when you're in that boat caribou.
The two interesting things is one thing, you know, we're all here at all talk. But the cool thing is, the talk is amazing. Correct. But they are completely quiet.
Right? The tide noise in the road is on. The amount of people that you have to be aware of, sorry, pedestrians, everyone on their phone. They can't hear.
They're waiting to hear the car coming now. They've got news to that. If you're not fully aware, you'll hit pedestrians because they're not looking out. So if you had a lot of demises.
Well, I'm fortunately aware of this around him. Yeah, it's unaware of this. It's not quite the pedestrians around there. They're only expecting to hear the car coming.
That's a good point. But the one we should do is we should take all the talk on the road, go to a petrol station, you know, where they're just together. What are people who are there? People who are there?
They're like, what are you doing here? You don't need to... This is not... Yeah, you can tell you shouldn't be.
What was that lady called for the Tesla? Yeah, the one. Was that set up? No, I was laughing.
We got the car on the line. I think that was set up. Yeah, yeah. He can't be that stupid, really?
Yeah. You'd have to call the stupid police for that one. I wonder. So how'd you get involved?
What made you now at your Tesla fanboy? You know what I'm saying? Well, basically my business kind of got me into it. So he bought it first.
And I was upgrading. So I've always been a multiple car guy. So how'd a Ferrari, California? What car was it?
Ferrari. Yeah, what car was it? Here we go. We had this car for the Tesla.
So what car was it? It was a silver. What? Oh, come on.
You said Ferrari. In the 80s, 9% of Ferrari's sold were Ferrari. We had this conversation with the car. So I got my latest never look back.
And then the Ferrari California seems super slow. Super slow. It's what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is we went into that performance rate.
The talk, the instantaneous satisfaction. Green factor 110%. Yes. But what is this with debating with the boys after that podcast is there's no noise.
Like I had an A45. I loved it. And then three, I missed the noise. But I think that's all you're losing.
It's not that much. Oh, no, that is. But think about it. So other than the latest, so the three's are now paying for your parking.
Right. So all S's and Model X's are for 2019. Have a lifetime should be charged for three. And you bought off someone else.
I bought mine. You get it. You inherit it. I literally now only have the model S.
I never pay for petrol. Yeah. And charge and I'm like, why would you go and pay over $100 a tank every time? He's got a point.
He's got a point. No, no, no. He's got a point to my wife after we drive the three. I said I'm getting in this car because she's due for a dark.
And no, she goes, if you get it, you're driving it. And I was sort of, I'm in an area about it. So mind it, I'm going to get it. I don't know the wrong thing about Tesla, but the three with the no dash or a new front of you.
She constantly looking to the center. Oh, and they're hitting it. And also the screen is quite small. I would recommend getting a good second hand.
Yes. Because he has a lot of dash. Yeah, that's true. For the same price as the new.
I'm going to go in for a subs. Okay. When I say my car in a subs, I check the oil. I never do much as a clean engine by charging.
No, no, no, no. I'm going to get a $200 out of it. Oh, there's a problem with the tires that we just did last week. Yeah.
What do they do on a subs? Yeah. What do they do on a subs? No, no, no, so it's diagnostic based.
Okay. So basically they just, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. So it's for me.
Yeah. So it's like not just at the moment. I haven't had any major issues and stuff like. Another thing that you talk to Tesla owners, no one has any major issues.
No one has any major issues. No one has any major problems. The one thing that's going to happen is it's going to be a generation, like maybe five years from now, but the batteries start in replacing and there's going to be a paying 20 grand for a new battery, but I guess it's like, you know, the people say that about the Prius. That's the hybrid.
Yeah. But not many of the old Prius are still going in. A lot of the cabs in there haven't changed batteries. Yeah.
You're about five year old Q7 or five year old with a hell with my legs. Yeah. S or X? X is 27, 26, okay.
S coming 2014 S or 2014 Audi St Ross. Yeah, so one of the amazing things is you look at S class of Cs, right? They come out, they're like 3a, 4 in a gram. How quickly do I go into 150 gram?
Like a year. Yeah, like something ridiculous. And even you get a 10 year old S class of Cs. They're still really kidding out.
They're so cheap. Yeah, so ridiculous. So electric cars don't do that kind of before. And then the other thing is which is really good.
It's just like saying that. Don't change the body shapes all that often. Like, S is still not changing. No, haven't changed.
No, it's still not changing. Yeah, it's not. So you buy 14 or you buy, let's say you buy 40, in 2014 and 2020, and you put the same set of wheels in the market. Put the same set of wheels in the market.
Exactly, same car. And it's getting updated. Yeah, they get updated. So you can buy options.
My car's updating as we speak. It's going to take three days. No, no. But like the sort that you want to apply.
Yes. You can buy initially. You can pay for it now. The thing is, so what happens is, this is one of the things I can grasp.
My car, fortunately, it comes with the order of pilot. Yeah. And so what happens is, but if you get to a red light, it doesn't think I've got to go straight through it. It's called a blind.
So it doesn't stop the red light. And it doesn't go around around that. It doesn't go around the light. But when you saw it, then you were something it does.
So now it does. So now it does. So you've got to see the green light. So it's kind of blind.
But now it's pretty, it's really ideal for seeing you in the head of Ali. Yeah. Freeway. So you tell me, it's a red light.
I, you know, I will try out the new one in terms of, when the other one goes through it. It actually went through it. I feel like it doesn't, it does, it does a car in front of it. And it's not on the car.
But it won't stop at a red light waiting for the new tech. When you're tech, you know, it's when they're little there, but they're not. I think where it's going to happen first is for you. Someone's going to come off the freeway.
You guys are bangs. Don't have the roundabout. I don't know. A little sensor that there's something in front of it.
It's like, yeah, wait, wait, wait. Go around the car. Yeah. Yeah.
We'll go around. Yeah. And it'll like it'll take corners reversed to the reverse parking down driver. Everything is improving the latest.
Can I ask you a question? Sure. Have you put 150 bucks down for the Cyletruck? I haven't.
It's a good question. You know what? I'll put that on. 50,000.
So you can order it. If you get it, the Tesla would sell it. Hey, you want to be able to put it down? Like 2021, right?
But yeah. So what do you think of that? I don't know. It looks and smells like marketing for you.
I mean, like, it's not really a model for it. Do you want to go like that? I don't think so. Yeah.
You're right. I think that was like, it's a prototype. That was the reality. Glass will approve.
Blah, blah, blah, blah. I mean, look, the guys are marketing genius, right? And if you think most people, especially guys, and people to tech cars, whether you're Elon being the top three people in the world that you most like to make. You know, most people.
So he's very interesting. He's got all this, you know, the boring company of all the tunneling. Yeah. And the car was just got all these three tunnels on the seat.
I mean, it's SpaceX. It's one of the things we were speaking about before. Like, we're in Sydney. It's, you know, most expensive to see Australia.
And if not, it's something that's happening in the street. Traffic is horrible. Cost the parking is horrible. And but yet we'll have these expensive cars.
You know, like it does not come. And if you go to the Tesla website, it does show you how much fuel you'll say. It's got a rebate angle for you. I'm going to give you a bit of jack.
I'm going to give you a bit of fuel. So I'm going to give you a little bit of fuel. I mean, what is your welcome to build? I mean, you obviously pull, you know, like it's the X-4.
I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to put it back. And how's the last thing any case?
You're going to 300? What? 200? 200?
I'm smacking it every time. Oh, yeah. OK. You're going to get stolen.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. 45.
I had an A45. Yeah, as well. And that thing was thirsty by that. But you know what, the funny thing was, when the city sold it, there was no luxury car tax.
Did you notice? Because it was under seven litres, 500k. Right. So if you sold the luxury car under seven litres, there's no luxury car tax.
You know, I was averaging 1340 and that thing. Yeah. Well, here's the thing, right? So I had the first iteration of the A45.
The new one. The new one. The new one. The new one.
The new one. The new one. Super fast. Super fast.
What is it? 3.3. No, no, no. Yeah.
It's just something crazy, right? Yeah. But it's 110 grand. Yeah.
I pay a patch. It was 82 when we get back in. Yeah. Like, are you saying it was a process?
Which one? I don't know. I don't know how to grand now. Yeah.
The new one. Oh, it's ridiculous. Oh, it's from the venue. It's from the venue.
A patch. Yeah. It's ridiculous. It's too much.
It's too much. It's too much. They know. That's why the X-Class failed.
You know? What? The Mercedes X-Class that you... Oh, it's a lot of the...
It was an Nissan. Yeah. Right. I'm charging Mercedes prices.
I didn't say Nissan Navarre, but they were able to Mercedes lights. No. That's all. You see.
It's something that they say more. Why? It's something bad in a business. I tell you...
Like retrovide. What? They're falling down. They're falling down.
It's an ended. They're falling down. I didn't do that. I'm like, what was it?
It was an easy guy. Yeah. It was an end of the car. So I went...
Mercedes, I went... Oh, my God. Are they still putting the Mercedes badges on? They can't be Mercedes-backed.
You know, they can't be Mercedes-backed. They're... Mercedes-backed. They're actually Mercedes-backed.
They're were sold from Mercedes-backed. They're sold from Mercedes-backed. That was the first Mercedes-backed. Oh, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. So, my father had one who was so proud of it. He was a Mercedes-Benz engineer. He used to tell me, he's a Mercedes engineer.
That's about all the way down. Is that the answer? It's also something I mean, we started from today. Let's go back.
I mean, you said the California. What's your car history? I mean, you've had some of the cars. First of the car was Mitsubishi Lancer.
Ooh, which is awesome. Just back up to the line. The answer was, we had a bit of success because we were in Basel cards, originally. So we had the car check.
We had like five or six stores. That's 21. I can't even store. Come on.
Every week we'd be in the car. So, actually, I could have actually, you know, I could have thought of it. He's laughing at track. I bought a turtice a week.
It was really good that it was really good. It was really good. It was really good. It was 24.
I'm looking for a 24. No, that's J.D. 4. Yeah, that was a good one.
