When you have an abortion, you are losing your child. While we cannot sit and compare the different ways we can lose our children, we do need to begin to acknowledge that children lost to abortion are just that - lost. We have experienced a loss.  It’s so hard for us to understand that because we made the choice. What we were not adequately informed of was the fact that what we would experience in years to come is grief over the loss of that child.  Forbidden grief in post-abortive women is so hard to navigate because when you feel you don’t have permission to move through your grief, you stay stuck in a stage for much longer.  My prayer is that your grief won’t stay unresolved forever. We can’t go back in time and change our mind but we can move forward.
