from Craft & Draft

Welcome everyone to the Craft & Draft podcast! We are so excited to bring you what we love, talking with you about workshop, literacy, writing, reading, and real world teaching. NTCE published their position statement regarding multimodal literacy and its place in the ELAR curriculum. Jacob and Pam discuss the article and their thoughts about how to incorporate the multimodal approach into the writing workshop. Jacob shares how he encourages students to write within a variety of genres. He shares how he uses a multimodal approach to move students into a way to create their own form of writing. Pam discusses how creativity helps students to grow. Jacob enjoys supporting students to explore composing a variety of media forms; however, he questions how it should be implemented without decentralizing writing. Join Jacob and Pam while they discuss the article and its implication for teaching literacy. Check out the NCTE article and let us know what you think!
