86. How to build your hedge fund network

from The Long-Short

This week, we're diving into the hot topic of the wars of talent, and specifically, new talent, in the financial services and asset management industries. Everyone has a take on it, whether they're employers or employees. The big question: how do we attract and keep the brightest minds and the leaders of tomorrow, who are also being wooed by banks, tech firms, consultants, and more? Building a sense of community and belonging for newcomers in the alternative investment industry may be the key. That’s why AIMA launched the Young Professionals Network in Australia in 2019. The initiative addresses the gap in opportunities for young professionals, often overshadowed by events dominated by senior figures. Five years on, this network has flourished, offering young talent a blueprint for networking, professional growth, and community building. Today, we're thrilled to be joined by Charlotte Adair, the inaugural chair of the Young Professionals Network and an Associate Director on the UBS Prime Sales team, who helps answer how the financial services industry can stand out in the war for young talent. We also heard from Michael Gallagher, AIMA’s Head of Australia, who spearheaded the networks’ launch.  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
